So I've been trying to get an accounting or finance internship (I graduate in may and have no real world experience - not good). Everyone has turned me down because my 3.35 accounting GPA is too low in this competitive market.
Because of this, I'm taking some time off (note: I didn't say "quit" - I know better than to say that). I am trying to start applying on grad schools for a Masters of Accountancy, and am going ot start studying for the CPA exam. It's gonna be a rough couple of months as I prepare for the CPA, the GMAT, school, and continue trying to find a paid internship. I've found an unpaid internship for a local not-for-profit called "Allied Arts".
But yeah, that's what's up with me. I'll still hang around on ventrilo some and check the website from time to time.
PS - Anyone here a CPA or good friends with a CPA? If so, what study materials did you use (gleim, becker, bisk, etc). I am leaning towards Becker just because being a member of the Tennessee Soceity of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA) gets me a discount.
So last night, I went to see Incubus live in Atlanta, GA. The concert was awesome, and they played my favorite song (Aqueous Transmission). But the really interesting thing happened after the concert.
I was sitting in my car, setting up GPS and music and waiting for a spot to let me get out. Then i hear a tap on my window, and the door behind me open. My first response was to look back and see whot he hell was getting in my car, since I went to this concert alone.
I look back, and there is a very clearly intoxicated underage girl sitting in the back of my car. Her first words to me are "I'm sleepy....are you sleepy?" My first words to her I believe were something along the lines of "Who the hell are you, and what are you doing in my car?"
After quite a few minutes of me trying to politely talk this young, drunk female OUT of my car...I had to get more serious. The tone went from calm, relaxed to "Ok, seriously, get the hell out of my car. Now." Her response to this made me laugh very hard in her face. Her response was "You should be nicer." Apparently, not wanting a total stranger in my car counts as being mean. Really mean would have been to drive her 2 hours back to my home city and just leaving her somewhere in town.
And that concludes the most hilarious ending to a concert of all time. I will forever remember the incubus concert as the night a drunk girl got in my car and wouldn't leave. Fun times.
(This will follow approximately the same format, minus the spec info. Like I said, our melee DPS spec is the same as our tanking spec.)
The gear for cat is a little more tricky, and with far less definite answers. It may be just me, but I have always put DPS second behind tanking. I understand that tanking is going to be my place in a group or raid for 99.9% of the time...anyone, enough rambling, here is some gear that is purchasable from AH, purchasable through badges, or obtained via solo quests.
NOTE: If any ferals want to add to this, please just post a reply and I will find a way to work it in.
A good website to reference about gear upgrades is http://www.emmerald.net/ . It may not always be 100% correct, as alot of it comes down to choice, but genearlly it will guide you in the proper direction. I will give you a quick run-down of particularly easy to get tanking pieces now, and then tomorrow I will follow up with DPS gear. (Try to break this into 2 pieces just for the sake of my poor memory :P ) Another good reference is the EJ Feral Druid Megathread.
There are ALOT of VERY good badge pieces/auction house pieces for tanking. My reccomendations (in no particular order here):
