YAAlt (Yet Another Alt)
Submitted by Finndo on Fri, 05/23/2008 - 07:44.
I have finally decided what to do for an alt. And the winner is.......
PRIEST!!!!
Yes, I will be working on a Human Priest for my alt. I was working out how my talents will be chosen, it will either be <meh> or OMGZ this sucks!!!!. I guess I will find out. The spec I am thinking about is 45/5/11. Since I know I will very likely will not be raiding (especially as an alot), I figure I have some leeway in my builds. I should be strong enough to heal both 5 and 10 mans, and also provide some punch on offense, not to mention the imp spirit buff, which looks mighty nice, as well as be able to reasonable fend off would be gankers.
here is the build.

The Saga of Gearing Finndo

I thought I would use this blog to post my experiences and thoughts on
playing the night before (or whatever). Soooo anywhoo.... tried Arena
2v2 for the first time EVER last night with Tweaks, who was gracious
enough to invite me to his team. We got thoroughly smoked over about 6
or 7 games. Aside from walking away from the arena with a thoroughly
new sense of how bad I am at pvp, it was still fun. I respecced into a
PVP build for it, it may have helped, but I don't know how much.
I have come to the conclusion that PVP (arena play in particular)
requires quite a bit of commitment to get pretty good at it. I like it,
I think I could be good at it, and there is a little voice in the back
of my head saying "prove to the world that enh shammies can PVP
too!!!!"
Downfall.... not for only the hardcore

What do people think of when they think of Downfall (ignore Blood-Faith)? Is Downfall ONLY a guild for hardcore raiders? Some, might say yes. I enjoy the atmosphere created by Downfall members, But I am not a hardcore raider, nor will I ever be. I am married, have a child on the way, a full time job, bills to pay, mouths to feed, blah blah blah real world living. Yet I still like to play WoW. I just cannot afford to spend the amount of time it takes to raid the major instances. I know there are more than a few people in this situation in Downfall.
Do I have a place in Downfall? Do non-raiders, non-hard core PVPers have a place? Of course. We just have to know where that place is.
I have played MANY MMOs over the years. I have found that it is pretty much the same with all of them: hit the cap, the non-hardcore get frustrated about content because they can't spend hours and hours playing to achieve "that one cool item". MMO - Massively Multiplayer. At end-game, it is all about multiplayer. You HAVE to submit yourself to playing with others to have any sort of enjoyment out of the game. WoW is different because it allows the casual player to play casually and achieve great things - but you still need to play with others.
I get frustrated because I ask for help, but people are busy doing dailies, arenas, in raid, the list goes on. I KNOW there are others in guild that feel the same, I am not alone.
So what do I do? I Log in, ask for help in g-chat, whisper a few people, get told thy are busy, get no response in green chat, and decide to do weenie quests I can solo. I play for a little while, watching the chat go by, wanting to feel like I am a part of the guild.
