A lot of people already know it, but for RL reasons I'm gonna skip out on this expansion.

Can't really say I'm 'Leaving', cause I'll still be prowling, and you'd have to ban me to get me not to be sitting in IRC most work days.

I know he used to play Friday's and Monday's........  For a while..... and weekends.......

Where has he been again?

Well.......

Air conditioner died, trip to Midland for an audit, apendicitus, installing new flooring, SeaWorld, Corpus Cristi, sick children, Magic: The Gathering, etc, etc, etc.

So..... not dead, not wow-quit.  Just majorly RL busy.  I should be back next Monday..... should be......

So two weeks ago, as most of you know, I took the week off to be with my wife and kids for the week after wifey had my new farmer.  I decided to goto my son's school on Tuesday to surprise him and pick him up from school.   First time I've ever met his teacher.

"I need to talk to you about Caleb.  He was flipping the finger all day, and when I got on to him about it, he flipped it at me and asked what I was going to do about it."

I spanked him fairly hard, grounded him from nearly everything, made him apoligize to his teacher, and gave him a HORRID lecture.  (He'd rather a second spanking than a lecture.  True story.)

So Monday I come home from work (he's now ungrounded) to find out that he decided he was hungry while my wife and neighbor were at the office in our community visiting my mom.  So he broke into the maintenance guys truck, took the pry-bar, and proceeded to BREAK every lock on the snack machine until the lid would come off right.  ( I just donated that snack machine.  $300.00 )

So, I spanked the crap out of him again, and took away LIFE in general.  THEN I told him he has craploads of chores for ......pretty much forever.  As soon as he gets home from school each day this will be his routine:  A) Do homework, B) Clean room, C) Seperate Laundry, D) Clean dishes, E) Clean living room.  After he's ungrounded, he can start to play after ALL of that is done each day. 

So what does he think up to do NEXT?  He tells his teacher that she can't assign him homework because he has to rake leaves, clean his room, etc, etc, etc and hands his homework back to her.  Get's up from his desk and tells her with a cocky "I don't have to do shit you want me to" attitude that she CAN'T assign him homework, drops the assignment on her desk, and goes and sits back down.

(Props to my son on his balls, seriously.)

So......  Here I'm at an impasse......

A) He's grounded, I can't take ANYTHING else away.

B) I've spanked him more times in the past month than in the past year.

C) He's getting to the age that he's zoneing out when I lecture.

E) Crying hysterically and saying "I'm sorry" lasts about three minutes from him

So what do I do?

He wrote back and front two pages (each line): 

• "I will not lie to my teacher about not having time to do homework and I'm sorry."
• "I will not disrespect my aunt xxx and uncle xxxx and I'm sorry."
• "I will not lie to or about my parents and I'm sorry."
• "I will not steal from my community and I'm sorry."

heh heh heh.

He DID have enough time for homework!

So Microsoft has decided that my version of Windows is hacked and I cannot use anything except OpenSource software currently (including Vent, Wow, Java, etc)

Happy because I've been wanting to convert to unbuntu for months, but I didn't want to take the effort to teach myself, my wife, and my children how to use unbuntu.

I'm pissed because I've never paid for a copy of Windows for my entire life.  Until THIS copy, which I paid full price for three years ago at $130.00 because Fry's was out of their OEM copies.

But for some reason, it's hacked and Windows won't let anything run except the OpenSource software (I know, right?)

So I have a cd burner and I'm burning everything I have, and I'll be installing Unbuntu asap. (probably tonight / tommorow night depending on how long it takes to burn everything)

Advice for a new user is always appreciated.   :-)

This has been done a great many times I know, but to be frank, I don't touch my UI very often unless one of my friends beats me with the verbal sticks and yells "BAD PEDRAN!"  (aka, not having PallyPower by accident one raid b/c kids turned it off)

So since I'm re-setting up and re-designing my UI next time I login, I figured I'd see what ya'll think I might be missing, or what you prefer instead of one that I have.

• Bartender4 / Dominos - Personally I can't tell much difference between the two though Bartender is a little more 'tech'.  I've always used Dominos, but I'll be getting Bartender4 b/c Dominos hasn't updated for 3.1 yet.
• QuestHelper- I'm a lazy SOB
• Talented - Ghli recently introduced me to this WONDERFUL addon for exporting wowhead talent-sets directly into wow.  No more screwups for me.
• Pitbull - Yes, yes, I know.  I hate myself too.

I'll also be using the following:

 /console SET mouseSpeed "xx" (I usually play around till I find a good number, but it's been almost two years... I believe the safe zone is either 0-10 or 0-50)  This is mouse-dependant since each mouse has it's own DPI.

 /console SET cameraDistanceSmoothSpeed "14"

 /console SET cameraDistanceMax "36"

So Friday night I went to Jayel's 10man Raid.  My beautiful wife, knowing how much I enjoy Raid, and thinking she was having another set of Braxton Hicks waiting until 2am to come tell me "Okay Honey, we need to go to the hospital."

Wasn't that sweet of her?  An epic AND a legendary both in one day!  [Slayer of the Lifeless] dropped, and [Baby Emily] came too!

[Baby Emily] is a legendary creature of imense proportions!  She weighed in at 5 lbs, 8 ozs and was a full 18" long!

She definitely got her fingers and toes from me, as they look like long-sticks, but thankfully she got my wife's nose instead of the Leverington nose.  (Those of you who have met Carno in person know what I'm talking about.)

I don't have my USB cable with me right now, but as soon as I get home Monday (or, when it is brought to me today) I'll be posting some pictures!!!!

So how many is that for the guild in the last year now?  Six?  Eight?  ....ten maybe?

And they say gamers/nerds never get any.
