Sunday afternoon. We're going to be scraping our best and most-geared raiders (read: those online) together for our first scheduled shot at Sunwell trash and Kalecgos.
Save your "QQ I can't raid 6 days a week" posts, please. Be on if you want want to take the first steps into SW. This is not a required raid, but you better believe I'll be guilting the hell out of you if you're online and not in raid ;)

I could post a Kalecgos one but without knowing the strat you won't get much from it since it's big on execution, designated groups that are self-sufficient and able to do what they need to do on their own. And that strat seems to be from WoWWikki and there's one thing that needs to be changed. They don't have to die at the same time, the demon has to die first. If you try to kill the dragon, it'll banish itself at 1% and stop teleporting you to the demon realm. The bad part about that is that the demon realm guys will get kicked out eventually and with no more going back in, the demon will kill Kalecgos eventually.

Strategy
The fight is quite interesting, because you will need to constantly
switch people between Kalecgos (dragon) and Sathrovarr (demon) so that
the Arcane Buffet debuff doesn't stack too high.
[edit] Setup
You will need 3 tanks, 8+ healers and 4+ decursers Assign 4 groups,
each containing 2 healers and 1 decurser. The tanks will have a
seperate rotation, but everyone else needs to be assigned to one group.
Assign an area of the platform for each group, so that they don't have
to run as far to reach the portal.
[edit] Phase 1
Tank Kalecgos (dragon form) at the center of the platform. When you
engage him turn him around immediately, because you don't want his
Frost Breath to hit the raid. Do not stand too close to each other,
because if a portal spawns, everyone to close to it will take damage.
Every 20-25 seconds , a portal will spawn. A random raid member will be
ported to Kalecgos (human form) and Sathrovarr (demon). The group
members of the group he was assigned to will click the portal to join
him. That way you ensure to have healers and decursers at Sathrovarr at
all times.

After being ported you will see Kalecgos (human form, friendly) fight
Sathrovarr (demon). A tank will need to taunt and tank Sathrovarr, so
that Kalecgos (human form) does not take damage. 60 seconds after
entering phase 2 you will automatically be porte back to Kalecgos
(dragon form), and gain a debuff preventing you to be ported back to
Sathrovarr again for 60 seconds.
[edit] Rotation
Whenever someone is target of the random port, the other members of his
port-group will enter the portal. Because of the phase 2 and debuff
duration, this will almost automatically become a rotation.
The first group that is ported to Sathrovarr re-enters the fight
against Kalecgos (dragon form) just before the last group is ported to
Sathrovarr. This is a critical moment, because the Arcane Buffet is
already stacking prettty high (hits for around 5k dmg). You will have
few players up at Kalecgos, so make sure the healers won't enter the
portal before the "new" healers (of the first group that was ported)
heal the Kalecgos (dragon form) tank.
The tanks will be seperated from the "normal" rotation.
Tank 1 tanks Kalecgos (dragon form), until Tank 2 taunts him.
Tank 2 will enter the first portal that spawns
Tank 3 will enter the third portal that spawns
Whenever a tank is ported, he will taunt and tank the target (Kalecgos
(dragon form) or Sathrovarr). When there is a tank-switch on Kalecgos
(dragon form), the tank previously tanking him will enter the next
portal he sees. After each port the tank will taunt and tank the target
and so on...
Have a group assigned to enter the portal, if Tank 2 or 3 is target of the random port.
If Tank 3 is random port on the first portal, have tank 2 and 3 switch roles.
If Tank 3 is random port on the second portal: oh well... happens. just continue your rotation!
Note: Kalecgos (dragon form) and Sathrovarr (demon) need to be killed
at the same time, so compare health percentages every once and a while!

From melee perspective,
saedo — Sat, 03/29/2008 - 20:58From melee perspective, Brutallus seems more like Teron Gorefiend. Sit and dps, with a bit of stand away from each other.
From a ranged perspective, um... Well, here's the basic tricks to the fight.
He does a frontal cone attack that does 20K split among all who get hit, puts a stacking debuff that increases fire damage He does a Burn debuff that jumps to another person within 2-3 yards when it runs it's course or is dispelled or if player dies. Also does a stomp which reduces armor by 50% to his target. He is also tauntable.
So, what you do is split the ranged/healer into 2 groups, one behind each tank in front of Brutallus. This is so they can split the 20K damage frontal cone between em. People that get Burn needs to get away from the group. When the fire debuff gets too high (3), other tank taunts and the other group takes the fire cone damage.
So I dunno, it seems to be mostly a 2 tank and spank fight with a lot of fire damage and a bit of running when you get Burn debuff.

I.E. some fights like archimonde are very low dps due to the need for stam gear, running around, etc., and some fights are very high dps such as gorefiend.
What can we use to check our own readiness?

I must echo Shihli's sentiment though, that the consistent scheduling of 25 man raids on Sundays is making me cringe. I didn't mind it when it was more of a "just this one time!!!" thing, but now that it seems to be more of a regular thing I have to lay it out that I'm not really a fan of the timing. I do feel the need to elaborate on a few points.
First, I am cutting back on ALL things, and since I consider wow to be my favorite hobby, I'm resistant to cut back on it more than other things I spend my time on. But right now, the idea of raiding almost every week night after I get off work and then raiding on Sunday too just seems like too much. I have been struggling physically lately but I have every hope that I'll be like most women and be through the thick of it in 3-5 weeks.
Second, I don't have a problem with the idea of raiding on Sunday, but rather, the number of total days per week. IMHO it's too much. If we were to decide at some point that Sundays worked better than, say, Fridays, I'd be game to make the switch.
Lastly, the biggest thing I take issue with is NOT the "hey if you don't like it leave your QQ's elsewhere", but the very blatant phrase of "This is not a required raid, but you better believe I'll be guilting the hell out of you if you're online and not in raid". That's just messed up in my opinion. To be fair, I have attended almost ALL of the recent Sunday 25 man raids, so please don't tell me I'm not contributing. I have, however, had to respec when I wasn't planning on it, and lost what few hours I normally can spend doing something BESIDES a 25 man because I have wanted to help Hamfist (or LF1Fist) out. I'm not sure how much longer I will be willing to do this w/o getting resentful.
Are you honestly going to give me shit if I want to run the ZA I was once upon a time proud of leading (my very first successful raid leading experience!)? If I log in on a Sunday and say "sorry guys these are my few hours to farm/arena/do ZA are you REALLY going to give me a hard time? I truly hope not. But I have seen it happen to other people who made a statement of "I am not going be available for raid on Wednesdays" etc and then got nasty tells of "why aren't you in raid" when they logged in on a Wednesday, for example.
To summarize, I am happy to see Hamfist progressing, and if you guys can get a 25 man off the ground on Sundays that's awesome. But please, be nice to your dedicated raiders during an "unofficial" raid time if they want to be in wow but doing something else.

Will I ask you to come if you're online? Yep. Does that make me a bad person? I guess. But I'll be looked at as even worse if we're not at least making honest attempts at Sunwell bosses within a few weeks.
The only time our raids have ever packed themselves up and moved on to better content is through a painful and highly charged process where people get mad at me for ruining their comfy raid farming, their 5 mans, thir pvp, etc. It has to start somewhere.
It starts here. Be on if you want to go, otherwise don't. I didn't see any ZA scheduled for that Sunday. I even rescheduled this until AFTER the alt Gruul's out of respect for that run.
