Tell us a little about how you see your class contributing to a raid: well i do really good dps, and believe that my dps will speak for itself as far as contributing to the raid, and i play careful cuz i dun like to wipe raids, i have never wiped a raid before in all raid history

We receive a lot of applications. Why should we recruit
you? (Please link a WWS report or screenshots of damage/healing meters
to demonstrate your performance in a raid setting, if possible.) sine 2.4 i havent figured out how to get swstats to show
Why have you chosen to apply to Downfall? i love progressing and it seems like you guys do too, not only that but you appear to have lots of guild stability which means alot to me too
- What do expect to get out of Downfall membership? hopefully raids
- How do you feel you will contribute to the downfall community? as a rogue i can say dps, and i try hard to help others out
- Do you have any references in Downfall? not really
- How long do you intend to stay in Downfall? plan to make it guild home!!!
- What things might cause you to leave? um since obliv i have been bouncing around trying to find a guild that just does what is necessary to progress, no i guess not progressing

- If you are applying to raid, which nights can you raid? all and any

I've
been tyring to play with some of you guys in game but it seems yer
pretty busy(at least the ones i've spoken to) so basiclaly the
only person that has any experience playingwith me or who i have any
repore with is jasmynn.

I understand you say to build repore over
the website, but i feel playing with me in game is a quicker way than
trying to decipher what is and what isn't bs on a forum. Don't get me
wrong I'll continue answering and posting, but I'd like to push
avtually playing with some of your members, particularly some of the
local guys like your texans and the rogues like saedo shihli eqiges and
barqs.

I may through in Saedo is our Rogue of Rogues in guild. Not only can he go toe to toe with shin, he can also chart, number crunch, and plan out the best dps rotations not just for 1 but 3 of the major pve dps styles, and he came in somewhat under the raidar. I think the rest of us have all picked up a little something from him in one way or another. What does this have to do with you? Well like i said he was somewhat under the raidar. Its good to sell yourself on what you know, what you can do, but its not wise to assume you can top current guildies in your app, remember these are stepping stones to your way to the top, these are going to be your fellow guild mates. People who you are going to have to rely on in and out of raid..This is a big part of where personality comes into play. When downfall asks what can you bring to the guild/raid, I hope you can have something more than just dps, because you need to be a colorful person too...(not trying to be a dick) So how bout you tell us more about you on a personality level?

Well because i don't know how i well mesh wiht you guys till i raid
with you. The only thing i will no for certain is that I will not need
to be carried because I play my class well.

It's always hard to
define your own personality and not sound like some cheesy match.com
paragraph, but i'm very easy going and unintrusive.

I tried
to make it very clear that it was not because I thought I'm amazing
that i can play my class, but because dps in pve with a rogue is mind
numbingly easy. I assume everyone who takes it at all seriously can do
it. Step 1 spec combat swords, step 2 button mash.

I went as far
as to say that current rogues that outgear that may play in a similar
fashion will out dps as much as their gear lets them. I don't see the
line of arrogance there, just an assumption that if the rogues in this
guild gear spec and play optimally, I will still stay close as close as
my gear lets me. Anyone not playing optimally, I am fairly certain my
gear is nto far behind enough that I will not out dps them. Luckily 1/5
rotations and vengeful swords keep my less progressed gear close enough
that I can out dps players who are not playing optimally with slightly
better gear. A 200 aep gap in gear is pretty easy to close if the
player doesn't time tirnekts with ar or consistently messes up on
rotations just as examples.

Trust me, in raids I am not pompous.
I don't post damage reports, I don't make random noises, but most
importantly, I don't mess up. I don't know what I can say that will
tell you my personality, but I'm serious about pve and will be prepared
as such. I'm very helpful outside of raids with whatever someone needs
help with but mostly I pvp and respec everyday to pvp.

I hope this has at least given you some answer to what you were asking.

I dunno, you're still kinda coming off arrogant. You say you don't mess up, achieve perfect optimal cycles for dps, etc. But I'm gonna assume you're a human in RL and humans can and do make mistakes. Shit happens. Are you trying to say you're the perfect super human rogue?

You also seem to sorta, talk the talk of knowing theorycrafting throwing a few of the terms around. So let's talk a bit about your gear now. Yea your Vengeful swords do bring ya up from the rest of your gear, which isn't all that bad. Though there's a red flag for one piece which I gotta question why you would wear it. Can ya figure out which one I'm talking about?

Honestally i gotta say i'm not to thrilled on your app thread so far. So far you have been unable to mesh to well on the site. I personally think that is the first thing that should be acomplished before giveing a trial to an app. We are a huge site friendly guild. Most of our planning and damn near everything else takes place here. If you cant mesh here on the site I honestally dont see a reason why we should move forward. I'd like to see you take the next week or so and interact on the site (more than just your app thread) and build some repore. Just my 2 cents.

Isilra, you mention that you can hit 1500 dps on a tank-and-spank, stand-and-dps fight. You also claim to be able to come in and beat our top rogues.

You're guilty of two sins here, at least in my book -

1) Claiming to be a 1500 dps rogue doesn't hold terribly much water when it's based on a fight that is designed specifically for that purpose.

I could have said I was a straight-A student back in college, based only on my performance in Organic Chemistry; just ... "ignore" that D that I got in Multi-Variable Calculus and that C+ in Process Design and Economics, and all those B's everywhere else.

I'd simply like to ask - what's your dps on fights that aren't simple tank-and-spanks (aka most of endgame nowadays)?

2) You're assuming our rogues don't know how to play. Please review our WWS parses (tab at the top of the page) and look at Hamfist raid parses. Saedo and Shinzwei do *a lot* of damage, and Ewiges does quite damn well considering he's daggers.

In short, over the course of one page I've seen you come in and say that you're 1500 dps and need a chance to show-up all of our raiding rogues. When questioned about it, you then go on to mention that you're 1500 dps only on rogue-friendly fights, and that you don't know what our rogues are doing (or even what gear they are using).

So yes, you did embellish your application a bit. I'd like to do a 5-man or something with you at some point, to gauge how well your playstyle reflects your application. :)

I guess I could work out their rotations and trinket timings by
using some math and along with their wws parses, but i think its still
to me there with you, seing as you say you can put out 1900 dps, your
probably playing optimally with much better gear, but again wihtout
playing along side you i cna't sya one way or the other. One of the
brightsides to the long application process is that it gives chances
for trials. And thats what i'm looking forward to selling myself on,
not this application. maybe if your sunwell raid doesn't fill or lf1m's
hyjal raid dones't fill tonight i'll fill in. I'm really looking
forward to playing with you in either event.

I'm not saying
1500 dps is my peak out, on stupid crap like akama 2k is pretty easy, i
was speaking more generally with that 1500 number. Pretty much any of
the hyjal fights or the first 4 bt bosses 1500 is a pretty average
number there.

Either way I'd like to show you rather than tell
you so message me anytime for a 5 man, 10 man 25 man, old school 40
man, whatever. You can judge from playing with me, and thats the point
i feel like we are at and I'm really looking forward to it.

We're basically raiding non-stop for the next 6 days (at least raids are planned and there's many many people ready to rock). Be on and available from 6pm onward. If there's a slot open for melee dps, we'll give you a quick try out.

Remember: One of our raids is on Illidan and the other is just now stepping into Hyjal for the first time. If the thought of wiping on Rage keeps you up at night, then you may not want to gamble here ;)

well my non wednesday is a temp situation do to school. Once this "semester" is up i hope to have all 3 down. Idk we do have many active raiding rogues, and we have a nice dance cycle where if 1 isnt around another takes his spot for the night and vice versa...we seem to have a balanced setup amongst us. My concern is having someone else come in expecting to raid only to find its hard to squeeze him in because of all us oldschools that have been raiding with LF1M, since kara/gruul. Thats my opinion on the matter. only if we had 3 active raids.

one of my biggest pet peaves is people not showing up as prepared for raid as i do. by prepared i mean 2 flasks, plenty of buff food, scrolls if agi str or armor if they are key stats for your class (and assumeing the AH isnt chargeing 5g ea for em like tends to happen at times) etc etc. I like that i didnt even have to ask about it and it was part of your answer.

Part of an app is selling yourself. While you sold yourself well you may have gona a lil overboard lol. (not nessicarally a bad thing)

A screen shot of a ui can say alot about a person. Just because it's mostly stock doesnt mean its bad. Hell I play on a damn near stock ui myself and am one of the top dps'n hunters in guild. indulge us and go ahead and post a raid ui screenshot. while as a hunter it wont tell me shit it is part of the app. The app format and the questions on it are there for a reason. Thank you for elaborating on the why recruit you question more.
