Submitted by Derchlon on Fri, 04/18/2008 - 03:27.Okay ladies and gentlemen, we have just Archimonde sitting there in Hyjal. No trash, nothing else in our way. Lets get him down on Saturday, so we can say that we downed all the Hyjal bosses in our first official week in.
I've been watching several Archimonde kill videos and here are some of the things I've noticed that may be slight edges that help us kill him.
Ranged:
DPS the boss, but keep your eyes primarily focused on the ground and at the fear timer. When timer gets close, get as far from the fire as you can, and be ready to pop your trinket if you're heading toward the fire. Don't be afraid to run out of DPS range from Archimonde. You may lose DPS time, but thats time that you are still alive. There may be times you are completely cut off from Archimonde by the flames while out of range. from what I've seen, a lot of the ranged will run towards the hills we buff from (not TOO far from the fight though), wait out the flames, and THEN run back in. Alway err on the side of caution here.
Melee:
I'm no expert on melee particularly, but from what I've seen dodge the initial fires as Archimonde spawns them, and position your self for the fears when the cooldown timer comes. If there is anything else melee should keep in mind, please post it below.
He may go down slowly, but if we all can keep ourselves alive, he WILL die.

I'm planning on doing some "girls night out" to do some shopping with my BFF...lol So I may not make raid. Then again...after a day of roller skating...shopping may end up quick and I may make it home.

If everyone is running away from the flames (even healers) and looking around and being smart, you will get him down. If you have selfish people who can only focus on OMFGBBQ NEED MOAR DPS, you are doomed to wipe on this guy forever. The hardest thing on Arch is running out and trusting that your people left in can handle dpsing and healing the tank.

(well a death can happen here and there, then you'd rely on a bit of luck and hope to survive the subsequent soul charge)
