MM is a very viable tree for

All of the "PvP" stuff in the survival tree is in the first 10-18 talents on the tree, so you can go MM heavy and still get all of the PvP benefits from survival.
BM is an 18-second wonder, great for 2v2 (in my opinion anyway) simply because the fights shouldn't last too long anyway. But for 3v3 and 5v5 BM doesn't have as much staying power.
MM is all about big numbers, strong shots, and a ... blah pet. Pets get FF'ed down really fast in arenas anyway so they're a non-player, so you might as well make yourself as strong as possible.
Plus, Silencing Shot is hax.
