Uncritability - glyphs and enchants
Thezoo — Mon, 04/28/2008 - 05:41
So I'm still kinda new to this whole theory-craft stuff, but I'm gonna take a swing at it.
I was researching some of the enchants that I have been using and such, when I remembered the [Glyph of the Gladiator] that is for sale by the SSO vendor. I had not thought anything of it because i still think of resilience as a PVP stat, but for druids it still functions the same (at a higher rate) than straight defense does. It takes 39.4 resilience (i'll call it 40, to make it easier) to have a 1% less chance to be critically hit vs. 60 defense rating to have a 1% less chance to be critically hit.
I am fairly confident that all of the feral tanks are currently using [Glyph of the Defender]. The glyph of the defender's total rewards @ 70 are: +~0.33% decrease to crit hit / +~1.40% dodge (i'm only using approximates as I am not at home to actually equip and unequip to double check). However, the rewards on the glyph of the gladiator @ 70 are: +~0.5% decrease to crit hit / 995 effective hp (i am going off of the information found here for information on effective HP @ 75% mitigation).
At first my response was "losing over 1% dodge? i'll pass but thanks for the offer anyway!" but then I began thinking about the other resilience enchants that are out there that could replace defense enchants. This could very easily free up gemming space, and in some cases enchant slots all together to allow for more wiggle room. Could it be possible to gain better stats for PvE out of PvP enchants?
**I wrote this right after a history final (i hate memorizing stuff) that was really rough. If this stuff is totally off let me know. When i get home tonight I will update this with exact numbers.**

25 defense, or 60 rating,
Ananaras — Fri, 07/11/2008 - 00:39Yes, you can mix and match
Atar — Mon, 04/28/2008 - 07:04Yes, you can mix and match as needed. Just make sure you have 2.6% anti-crit.
415 defence = crit immune
103 resilience = crit immune
1 skill point of defence gives you 0.04% dodge as well. Resilience does not.
Edit: BTW these numbers are based on the player having 3 points in Survival of the Fittest.
Does the effect of
starstalker — Mon, 04/28/2008 - 06:38Does the effect of Defense and resilience stack?
Because I dont have the hard numbers in front of me atm, lets say to be crit immune requires 400 def. If you can only meet 380 in defense, could you make up the rest with resilience? (yes, the numbers are made up, but I hope you get the point)
Don't forget that dropping
Atar — Mon, 04/28/2008 - 06:34Don't forget that dropping your defence rating will also drop your dodge rating as well.
Defence = 2.4 rating per skill, 1 skill = 0.04% dodge, miss, anti-crit ((25 defence,
or 60 rating, for 1% less crit/more dodge/more miss))
