The Saga of Gearing Finndo

I thought I would use this blog to post my experiences and thoughts on
playing the night before (or whatever). Soooo anywhoo.... tried Arena
2v2 for the first time EVER last night with Tweaks, who was gracious
enough to invite me to his team. We got thoroughly smoked over about 6
or 7 games. Aside from walking away from the arena with a thoroughly
new sense of how bad I am at pvp, it was still fun. I respecced into a
PVP build for it, it may have helped, but I don't know how much.
I have come to the conclusion that PVP (arena play in particular)
requires quite a bit of commitment to get pretty good at it. I like it,
I think I could be good at it, and there is a little voice in the back
of my head saying "prove to the world that enh shammies can PVP
too!!!!"

Areanas/BGs make WoW a whole
Submitted by Aidin on Thu, 05/08/2008 - 08:44.Areanas/BGs make WoW a whole new game. I do 2v2, 3v3, and 5v5 almost every single week...and I still feel like a nub sometimes. The important thing is that you find it fun. I LOVE IT.
Sounds like you and Tweaks did damn good for your first time out there as a team! There are still some weeks where I don't even break a 1500 rating ...so don't let it get you down...keep trying!

Submitted by tweaks on Thu, 05/08/2008 - 20:55.haha, If you want I can invite you too, I beleive I have one more spot open, I'd see if any of you guys wanted to do some arena tonight, but I just got done from a twelve hour shift so I'm pretty much whooped tonight, almost fell asleep while I was working but a red bull saved me. Anyways do not let losses get to you, have fun, and you did alot better than when me and my other teamate did when we first started, now that we know eachothers limits and some game-plans were not too bad. If your on tommorrow we will have to do more if you want. Also if anyone wants to help in making a 3v3 or 5v5 ask away, I would love to try one of those out because 2v2s Are all I have ever played really. see you on the battlefield.

Also grabbed up 3 of the 5 Seer's Linked set. My next task will be to upgrade my Chest to the S2 Piece, and my belt to [item]Vindicator's Linked Girdle[/item]. Ugh, PVPPVPPVPPVPPVP.
But hey, I might actually be able to contend at some point once this gear is upgraded.
Still unfortunately a looong way from the dual [item]Drakefist Hammer[/item]s. but I will get there!!! Any help from guildies for the Ore tohelp bump my skill would be greatly appreciated.
Oh, one more thing. I am open to running pretty much any heroic I can get into. Currently, that is in any of these areas: Coilfang, Hellfire, and Auchindown.
And thanks to Grasen for the help on Saturday, as well as Amenn, Homicidal, and Nuit for the SL run, 'cept I need to do it again! grrr....

There is at least one thing to be said for PvP gear: It really is the only way to gear in WoW that's truly "at your own pace".

Submitted by tweaks on Wed, 05/14/2008 - 00:09.Sorry if i've been a lil MIA in helping out this week I have a certification test tomorrow...err today, I've been studdying my ass off so I haven't been online all that much and when i was I was afk, I did manage to do kara, do a heroic and farm a lil bit but not at the optimum i woulda liked to. Anyways my playtime schedule should go back to normal after I take this test. I', a little worried though, some info is not sticking scsi devices, network topologies, and the IEEE cable frequency stuff. Enough of my ramblings, If your on tonight Finndo I'll do some more arena again w/ ya tonight. BTW I'm a miner, what ore is needed?

Ardea (I believe it was ardea) gave me some ore which is helping out quite a bit. ALso, I checked the skill req for the Drakefist, and its 350. So the ore that I received from you Ard should get me to if not VERY close to 350 to make those drakefists.
As for other ores needed Tweaks, pretty much anything Fel Iron or better. I am moving into the Fel Steel and Adamantite stuff for BS as soon as I get to 350.
The next arduous journey will be the 40 Primals I have to muster up for the two hammers. UGH.....that and the khorium ore, which I don't need a WHOLE lot of.
If I'm on I'd love to run some arenas with you. I noticed that I didnt get any Arena points, is that because I didn't fight in enough matches?
Also, I'd really really like to run Kara to get the T4 Gloves token from the Curator :D. That'd give me 2 T4 pieces, and the bonus!!

Had a blast at the Mag/Gruul's run on Sunday (and I really lucked out), and picked up a nice cloak in Kara last night.
Almost there for my second drakefist, just need 8 more primal fires and I will have it.
