Hello I'm Makafis and applying for Downfall. I was referred by my RL friend Nobu-Caliroll. I'm very experienced player have had a few other 70's, warlock, warrior, druid. I'm experienced up to vasjl and archimonde so got some decent knowldge of end game. I love to raid and i'm a very social person. I live in CO so im in Mountain time zone and i'm also in the military. I'm 20 years old and single so no distractions from the womens hahah. Anyway any questtions mail me i cant submit armory link atm cause WoW sie not lettin me load it but I will submit asap. I do not have the best gear but i hit 70 bout a week ago so im workin on it.

Also, as a note: I think this will be the process all our new ginvites will follow from now on. A) App, B) Reply and keep up with the questions on the application, C) Wait, D) Run an instance/raid/BG with Df members a few times, E) Don't fuck up or be a douche, F) Wait some more, G) finally, when enough people request a person get ginvited will I finally pull them in. I think this will ensure very high quality people, like Makafis.

garreth — Tue, 02/19/2008 - 23:54Be online Wednesday evening at 6pm for a possible invite to an SSC or TK raid. Pst Ataraxia. Bring a resto flask, healing food and weapon oils. Be prepared to raid until 9pm. Also, get our raid mod pack (linked at the top of the pag) and ask some folks like Dufe or Saedo or Aidinselene how the various mods work. Work your ass off and you might just find yourself a permanent spot in a 3 day a week raid.

DISCLAIMER - Shihli's not a jackass and isn't trying to hose your opinions!
If, at work, the hiring process was overseen by every single employee of the company, no one would get hired. Imagine, if you will, this scenario:
We get an excellent rogue applicant, a guy with a great attitude and personality that meshes well with the guild. This rogue is well-geared, knows his role in a raid, knows strats, and all of that jazz as well. However, his primary motivation in the game is to raid, and that is his main reason for applying. Lastly, he's had a long history with another one of our raiding rogues and the two of them hate each other.
Our current rogue may feel motivated to complete trash the guy's app based solely on his own attitudes. Then our current rogue goes on to talk to their buddies about how much of a jackass the applicant is and how much they suck, etc etc. Eventually, this causes a side-taking situation - those who support our current rogue, and those that want the new guy in (regardless of their opinion of our current rogue).
Keep in mind, this is ONLY AN EXAMPLE and is not representative of anything that has happened to date.
It's always a good thing to have input for the hiring/recruiting process, particularly from those that may know the applicant. It's also, however, a bit of a dangerous path to tread, as it may unintentionally open doors of conflict and problems which may have never arisen otherwise.
It's G's choice as to how he'll handle it. And I love having the input from other guildies. But too many opinions/voices tend to overcomplicate things (I should know, as I unintentionally complicate a lot of shit).

Makafis — Tue, 02/19/2008 - 19:29To Aidin uh no i dont use grid i had it on my priest but she wasnt 70 ive seen it but never really used it i just use pictures with a custom build of xpearl graphics to heal its been workin fine for mebut im always up to try new things.i applied on my pally cause hes only other toon on this server my old main Sagerius warlock is on server muradin, ally and priest Syleynnas same server ally night elf and i have a warrior i just gave to my friend name is rangel orc warrior use to be my bros and he was a GL the most prgressive guild ive ever seen almost 2 weeks after bc came out had kara on farm just sick progression but he doesnt play anymore they play hellgate (for what reason idk lol) and the reason im a healer is because i love to heal its my fav thing to do first mmo i play was ffXI and i was healer loved it tried dps didnt like much same as wow i love warlock but healin is my thing and on my old server my friend let me lay his pally and bein able to top healin in ssc and tk by such a huge gap just opened my eyes lol
