id think for later attempts where we are working on dps over healing you will most likely get some help with your mana regen in a shaman or Spriest

but i would love to hear the results of boom testing survival is interesting to me i have always been beast

Two things Sorreah:

1)  Name's SHIHLI.  Two H's.  Shili looks too close to Shill, and I instantly hate ANYONE that calls me Shill.  Talk to me in-game to know more about that.

2)  Read my post previous to yours.  I mention Steady being affected by haste.  I was debating about going a 3:2 rotation with mixed arcane/multi for as many steadies as I could, but that's going to chew through mana super-fast.  Boomtesting with theorycraft is my next step methinks.

This might be more complicated than originally thought ...

[Legionkiller] might just be better than [Black Bow of the Betrayer] after all.  Given my typical shot cycle, BBotB leaves about 0.27sec of "dead time" in each 2:1 shot cycle (2 specials per auto), and 0.52sec of dead time in each 1:1 shot cycle (1 steady to 1 auto).

However, with Legionkiller there's only 0.18sec of dead time in each 2:1 cycle, and 0.32sec of dead time in each 1:1 cycle.  Less dead time = more shots fired = more damage done per second.

Think I might have to do some boomtesting Friday afternoon.

Next time we look at Brutallus, regardless of plans, I'm going to go all-out on consumables and everything else.

I know I can do more dps than I have been, I just need to see what's holding me back.  My sneaking suspicion is that I have to actually DROP some haste and possibly get my HR to cap (I'm at 86, cap is at 95).  Right now I'm at 88 haste rating (5.6% haste) with a 15% haste quiver, which brings my autoshot speed down to 2.47sec attack speed.  Currently, I'm running a 1.5:1 rotation, which means I do this:

- Steady shot (1.5sec cast time)
- Auto shot (0.5sec cast time)
- Steady shot (1.5sec cast time)
- Arcane/Multi Shot (0.5sec cast time)
- Auto shot (0.5sec cast time)
- rinse and repeat

Total cycle time for 2 specials per auto:  2.5sec

In short, it looks like I'm clipping shots right now.  My shot cycle requires 2.5sec (with picture perfect latency ... in reality, closer to 2.7sec) but my auto shot fires every 2.47sec.  I'm clipping shots.

Humbug.

Two things to do tonite:

1)  Adjust gear to meet my shot cycle, or adjust shot cycle to meet my gear.

2)  Get an autoshot cast bar timer!

As fire I'm having to hold back a LOT.  I know Rupter and Netti and I have had some loose conversation in mage chat and we all experienced the same thing.  There are several things that can contribute to this, but I do think I noticed a difference when we switched Mnor and Orky.  I'm having to straight up stop casting at times because I'm watching my threat get at 125%....as arcane I would rarely get over 90%, so it's definitely a change for me.  I'm not completely sure Arcane would be fully sustainable on this fight, but, if I stacked my int/spirit/mana regen gear I could probably do it.  I do remember saying at one point that I felt like things might be less stressful, at least for learning, to go back to arcane until we can get a bit more of a solid grasp on things.

Mostly as I'm dpsing I watch the debuffs and if I'm at 115-120 when there is only one slash debuff, I'll have to stop dpsing because it's going to be 2 more slashes before a taunt can put me in a safe zone again.

My gear is not fully optimal for fire yet, and it's been a damn long time since I've played fire so it's going to take some getting used to.  I may honestly try arcane again and compare some numbers and mana usage to decide what I really want to be doing.  But bottom line is that I think all of us dpsers were getting gimped from threat, but we EXPECT to have some challenges at this point in the learning curve.  We'll get there .

Just as a side note: My dps wasnt good enough for my own taste so been going over some numbers and next time ill be a different spec, However I will be keeping 3/3 Malediction, Shadows Embrace etc, However the one thing I will lose is I will only beable to get 2/3 Improved Imp which is only like 70 HP less on imp so shouldn't be to big of a deal. I'll be testing the spec out of course before hand to make sure i'm not specing into something worse

A lot to consider tonight for Brut:

Enixa will be full Affliction to help with the tank group. That's stam for tanks and reduction in boss hit. Will also be bringing imp CoE for the magies. He's taking a huge dps hit, but the goal here is to get to enrage.

Me and Kati will be on fires.

On tanks will be: Sorreah, Eledin, Closer and Jorence + Nhia chaining.

On raid will be Sandar and/or Chrislow. We'll adjust as needed.
