Tell us a little about how your class contributes to a raid.:

I feel that my toon contributes due to the fact he can tank instances (when his gear gets better he can tank more instances lol) and when he is not needed as a tank he can DPS with the best of them.

Would it be a problem if you had to wait 3 weeks or 3 months to get into raid?:

I don't have a problem waiting lol. I have been playing this game for a few years now and have had to wait the whole time. When you are new in a guild you usually have to wait for raid spots, so patience is a talent I have perfected.

List the instances you have experience in, and the farthest you have been in that instance.:

I started off playing Molten Core with my hunter and ran it until he was completely geared from that instance. However, I never ran it with either of my other toons due to the expansion. Also, the guild I was in at the time never made it farther than MC so I never ran NAX or AQ40. I did complete AQ20 multiple times as well. I have extensive experience in Kara since I have ran it with all my toons. I have completed Kara completely. I have also finished Gruul's Lair and Mag's Lair. I have run ZA a few times, but never finished it. Unfortunately I have never run anything higher. As of right now, I have only been the off tank in Kara and DPS in all other instances.

What is your favorite 25-man BC Boss encounter, and why?:

Since my gear does not allow me to tank any 25 man encounters yet, I don't have a favorite 25-man boss. I get to DPS any boss/mob so my task is not that challenging.

What is your least favorite 25-man BC Boss encounter, and why?:

I would have to say my least favorite 25-man Boss would have to be High King Maulgar only due to the fact I have been finding pick up groups for it. Almost every time I have gone we wipe multiple times due to people not knowing what to do. It gets very frustrating and people usually end up leaving...so it is my least favorite due to the fact that also stops Gruul also.

I have a level 70 shadow priest and a 70 hunter. I haven't played my hunter since running him through Kara a few times since it was too hard to get him into groups. That is when I leveled my priest up with the intentions of having a healer. However, the guild I was in wanted him as a SP so that is what he stayed and geared as.

Is this app for your main alone, or would you like to bring alts over as well?:

I'd like to bring some alts over too

Why should we recruit you?:

I feel I will help the guild in the future. I am not naive enough to say that I can help you now since I am nowhere near geared enough to back that statement up. However, I am a very fast learner and am willing to do what is necessary to improve.

Why have you chosen to apply to Downfall?:

I have always heard that Downfall was one of the top guilds around. Every time I have seen a member their gear is impressive and the attitudes they presented was what I like from people to raid with. I have a friend that was accepted into Downfall and he has nothing but good comments for the guild.

What do you expect to get out of Downfall membership?:

I don't expect to get anything from my membership. I would like to find new people to raid with and new experiences to enjoy. My favorite aspect of WoW has always been raiding, but I don't like to do it with people I don't know. There just isn't the bond that you get when you run instances with your guild.

How do you feel you will contribute to the downfall community?:

I am an easy guy to get along with and always try to lighten moods when they are not going good. I never have a problem changing toons or dropping what I am doing to help people out so this is something I will continue to do if I am accepted into Downfall.

I intend to stay as long as Downfall will have me.

What things might cause you to leave?:

The only thing I see that would cause me to leave would be fights among the guild. I was in a guild before that did nothing but argue in guild chat and during raids. This ruined the whole experience for me and I won't stick around to go through that again.

How often do you think you would have to miss raid?:

Depending on raid times, I work a Panama Schedule. This means I work Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat, and Sun one week and the only work Wed, and Thurs the next week. The only problem with this is that I have to get up at 2 am to get ready for work so there is no way I can stay up if I have to work the next day. Hopefully, I will be getting a new position soon and will be Mon-Fri normal hours then I can raid any day and stay up late.

What might the typical reasons for missing raid be?:

The only reasons I have ever missed raids are work and family. I enjoy WoW very much, but I am a married man and my family is more important than a game lol. However, if I say that I will be at a raid, only something out of my control will keep me from attending. I am always up front on when I can or can't attend events.

I feel mods are necessary in a raid setting. There are so many things going on during a boss fight, you need all the edge you can get to make things easier.

I am a happily married father of four...yes I said four lol. I am a military working dog handler in the Air Force and have been in the military for coming up on eight years. When I am not working or playing WoW I am outside with the kids skating, riding bikes, or playing any type of sports game.

I take computer classes when I can due to my schedule. As stated above, I work in the Air Force full time.

I enjoy reading, crafts/woodworking, sports, hiking, kayaking, or anything that involves the outdoors.

I really like your attitude!! I'm fully impressed, attitude > gear/skill imo. You can pump a person with a good attitude full of gear and skill...but you can't do shit with someone who is a pisser and a moaner.

We have regular Kara raids as well as Gruul/Mag. Let's get you in some of these, get you some tanking gear! This will open up some options for tanking in SSC/TK.

I have only been in this guild for a week or so but I love it! I must say I have known this guy in real life for about 4 years. We both train Military Working Dogs for the USAF. He is dedicated to WoW. He locks all 4 of his kids up in dog crates so he can make raid times with minimal interuptions. Ok maybe he doesnt go that far, but he is a all around good guy. This is the guy that turned me on to WoW (Thanks) and my wife probably hates him for it. :)

Thank you for your application to Downfall. We are not currently recruiting for our 25 man MH/BT/SW raids. This does not mean that your application is or will be rejected. What it does mean, is that you will now be faced with a few tasks.

Downfall is a community first and foremost and a successful raiding guild second. First you need to ask yourself what it is you want from Downfall. If it's a spot in end game raid, and nothing more...then you may want to seek entry into another one of the many guilds on Gorgonnash.

If you desire a strong sense of community then get ready to work for it! When we talk about community, we aren't talking about the type of community that jumps when you say OMGRUNMYALTTHRUVC!!!! We're talking about a group for people who love this game we pour our lives into, people who will run things with you when they have time, people who may have their own special way of contributing to the community.

Now that you have applied (and if my wall of text didn't lose u 2 paragraphs ago), don't just sit there and hope someone will come hunt you down and say "HERE'S YOUR INVITE!!" because that simply will not happen. Those who gain entry into Downfall work for it. Members have waited upwards of 3 months or more to be part of our community. How do you ensure that you have every option to be the next addition?

Here's an idea:

Stay active on this thread, it's your application. You will receive feedback and recommendations. Don't take anything personal, if you can't take constructive criticism, you will never make it in guild chat. Applications are open to the entire community, not just officers, so if you were a douche to a member in the past, be ready for it to bite you in the ass.
If given goals to meet, make them.
Sign up for events you can make and which you are geared for. No need to sign up for MH/BT/SW, as those aren't testing grounds for new members. Focus on the Sunday Gruul/Mag run by yours truly or the Saturday SSC/TK run by Grasen.
If you sign up...show up. No one likes an app who signs up for all raids and never shows. Be sure to send a tell to the raid leader so he/she knows you are available and ready to rock.
Download the raid pack. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT show up to a Gruul/Mag or SSC/TK without our required add ons. If you do not understand what you are looking at, then research it. If you still don't understand, post you're question and someone will help you. (If you think only bad players use mods, we can say our goodbyes right now)
Do everything you can to get your name out there, and show why you should be part of our community. Run 5 mans, Run 10 mans, participate in forum discussions.

If and when you are accepted into Downfall, you are strictly on a trial basis. If we invite you because you convinced us you were the worlds greatest healer/tank/random dps class, and you looooooooooove to run 5 mans...but you never run a thing, you never sign up for fun runs, and you burn out and don't sign on for 1+ months, don't be surprised if you find yourself guildless on log in one day.

It's very simple, don't say what we want to hear just to get in, because it will haunt you in the end. Be honest, and we will be fair.

With that said....GOOD LUCK ON YOUR APPLICATION!

Not sure where he has gone. He may have deployed. Sorry about not signing up or anything but I got a short notice deployment and have been gone for a while. I am back, for now lol, and plan on trying to be on more and sign up for things.
