I've been thinking about branching mAlt out a bit. I'm sorta tired of KZ and Gruul/Mag...tell me what you think!

Thank you for your
Submitted by Aidin on Thu, 07/31/2008 - 23:00.Thank you for your application to Downfall. We are not currently recruiting for our 25 man MH/BT/SW raids. This does not mean that your application is or will be rejected. What it does mean, is that you will now be faced with a few tasks.
Downfall is a community first and foremost and a successful raiding guild second. First you need to ask yourself what it is you want from Downfall. If it's a spot in end game raid, and nothing more...then you may want to seek entry into another one of the many guilds on Gorgonnash.
If you desire a strong sense of community then get ready to work for it! When we talk about community, we aren't talking about the type of community that jumps when you say OMGRUNMYALTTHRUVC!!!! We're talking about a group for people who love this game we pour our lives into, people who will run things with you when they have time, people who may have their own special way of contributing to the community.
Now that you have applied (and if my wall of text didn't lose u 2 paragraphs ago), don't just sit there and hope someone will come hunt you down and say "HERE'S YOUR INVITE!!" because that simply will not happen. Those who gain entry into Downfall work for it. Members have waited upwards of 3 months or more to be part of our community. How do you ensure that you have every option to be the next addition?
Here's an idea:
If and when you are accepted into Downfall, you are strictly on a trial basis. If we invite you because you convinced us you were the worlds greatest healer/tank/random dps class, and you looooooooooove to run 5 mans...but you never run a thing, you never sign up for fun runs, and you burn out and don't sign on for 1+ months, don't be surprised if you find yourself guildless on log in one day.
It's very simple, don't say what we want to hear just to get in,
because it will haunt you in the end. Be honest, and we will be fair.
With that said....GOOD LUCK ON YOUR APPLICATION!
that all sounds good to me.
Submitted by twich on Fri, 08/01/2008 - 20:01.that all sounds good to me. i want to start getting involved as soon as possible. and i understand that it is a large guild with full raids but i am not worried about that. my main reason for wanting to join the guild is deffinatly for the community. i am excited to get to know all of you. hope to see you in the near future!

Submitted by Aidin on Tue, 08/05/2008 - 13:57.Twich my friend, you have some work cut out for you! You are lacking enchants and logical gems all around the block and back. You're spell hit is scary!!!
Get out there in some heroics, grab some kara runs, work on those professions and keep us updated on your gear up. Get that tailoring and enchanting up so you can craft some better pieces for yourself. And for the love of someone's god...replace that lvl 60 helm with anything...even a green!!!
Hmm...... You do realize
Submitted by Fjork on Tue, 08/05/2008 - 14:38.Hmm......
You do realize that we usually keep a BYOB policy right? We don't fund YOUR drinking habits anymore than you fund ours......
I have an observation similar to Aidin's, but I would like to make a recommendation. Your Tailoring is 344 already, so your well on your way. Why not run Shadow Labs and Shattered Halls until you gets the recipe for the [Spellstrike Pants] and the [Spellstrike Hood]. I would pickup the pants to get that nice +92 set bonus.
My recommendation is to go around each of the Alliance towns throughout Outlands and get the Tailoring recipes they sell for the Imbued Netherweave Set. Fairly inexpensive to make, and they'll take you right to 375 to be able to make your spellstrike set.
From there I would make a whole pile of netherweave gloves and DE them all for planar essences and arcane dust. You'll be funding not only the mats for your imbued netherweave bolts, but also for leveling your enchanting. Heh, and YOU choose Scryer! Which means you can level your Enchanting right there in the Scryer tower instead of flying all the way out to Honor Hold!
Finally, (and keep in mind, I'm not a Mage) if mages have the same spell-hit req's that the rest of us do, you should probably invest in some different gems/gear to get your spellhit up from 2% to 17%.
Do some lookin into spell hit, spell crit, and spell penetration info. Mechanics seriously threw me for a loop when I came back.
Welcome back! I feel your pain on having been offline for so long. I only recently started playing again on Gorrgy in May. (Speaking of which, if you have any spare Illusion Dust, Eternal Essence, or Large Brilliant Shards I'll be happy to 'take care' of them for you. :) )
I don't see much progress
Submitted by Aidin on Thu, 08/21/2008 - 14:07.I don't see much progress goin on there. Still rockin lvl 60 items..there are greens that are better. You have gear that should if nothing else have some green quality gems in it. Looks like your tailoring is still at 344...no attempt at all to lvl it to make some phat upgrades???
Not much effort on the part of the applicant. Closing for now, please feel free to apply again when you've had a chance to put forth some effort in upgrading your toon, and desirability.
