So they've added glyphs to

Dufe — Mon, 09/01/2008 - 13:27

So they've added glyphs to the trainers all the way up to 450 inscription, but forgot to add the ability to train master level inscription, so I'm stuck at 300 /facepalm.  Also looks like they haven't finalized the material requirements yet, as all but the druid glyphs have the exact same requirements from the lowest level glyphs all the way to 450. (BTW: If any of the other testers want glyphs - let me know.)

Also, they've fixed the arcane blast mana requirement - it should now be almost exactly the same at lvl 70 in beta as it is in live.

Adwarflol — Mon, 09/01/2008 - 15:33

I wouldn't mind some glyphs I'm leveling a deathknight with my friend (almost 68) I'm still not sure exactly how glyphs work but I understand the idea of them. <_< Character is on the PvE server though.

New LW recipes:   Bracer

saedo — Fri, 08/29/2008 - 21:00

New LW recipes:   Bracer Enchants!

  • Fur Lining -
Attack Power -- Permanently enchant bracers to increase attack power by
    120.  Can only be used on the leatherworker's bracers, and doing so
will cause them to become soulbound.
  • Fur Lining - Stamina --
Permanently enchant bracers to increase stamina by 90. Can only be used
on the leatherworker's bracers, and doing so will cause them to become
    soulbound.
  • Fur Lining - Spell Damage -- Permanently enchant
bracers to increase spell power by 70. Can only be used on the
leatherworker's bracers, and doing so will cause them to become
    soulbound.
  • Fur Lining - Fire Resist -- Permanently enchant
bracers to increase your fire resistance by 60. Can only be used on the
leatherworker's bracers, and doing so will cause them to become
    soulbound.
  • Fur Lining - Frost Resist -- Permanently enchant
bracers to increase your frost resistance by 60. Can only be used on
the leatherworker's bracers, and doing so will cause them to become
    soulbound.
  • Fur Lining - Shadow Resist -- Permanently enchant
bracers to increase your shadow resistance by 60. Can only be used on
the leatherworker's bracers, and doing so will cause them to become
    soulbound.
  • Fur Lining - Nature Resist -- Permanently enchant
bracers to increase your nature resistance by 60. Can only be used on
the leatherworker's bracers, and doing so will cause them to become
    soulbound.
  • Fur Lining - Arcane Resist -- Permanently enchant
bracers to increase your arcane resistance by 60. Can only be used on
the leatherworker's bracers, and doing so will cause them to become
    soulbound.

Not sure bout the others, but from my perspective, the normal enchanting AP version is 38 AP in Wrath.     So 82 more AP for LW only!

THANK YOU   I've been

starstalker — Sat, 08/30/2008 - 09:53

THANK YOU

I've been having to justify to myself why I kept 375 leatherworking on my hunter.

Intersting to see a +90 stam enchant. That makes it the highest +stam enchant/buff/patch in the game, right? for any slot?

And spell damage? really? Is this throwing a bone to all the casters who took LW for the drums?

Yup.  As it stands now,

saedo — Sat, 08/30/2008 - 09:59

Yup.  As it stands now, these Bracer "linings" are hands down the best enchants in the game.    Well if they don't add stuff to the other professions to match it.

But here's the comparision to their Enchanting counterparts:

Fur Lining - Attack Power -- +82 AP
Fur Lining - Stamina -- +74 Stam
Fur Lining - Spell Damage -- +50 Spell Damage

The resists have nothing equal.

And highest stam enchant on anything is a 72 stam Leg Armor Patch, so even beats that by 18 in stam alone (patch gives 35 agi too).

But that's LW too, so for other stuff, a 22 stam enchant to shield is highest, so wins by 68 stam.

And the lvl 80 instances

Dufe — Mon, 08/25/2008 - 20:05

And the lvl 80 instances weren't implemented til last week, nor was the lvl cap raised to 80.

ALthough, if you stretch "a few weeks" to a month (x2) that puts us right about at the beginning of Nov, which has long been suspected to be the targeted release time.

What does intrigue me is

saedo — Mon, 08/25/2008 - 17:15

What does intrigue me is that Inscription will be released in it.   Prob no Glyphs til Northrend and just scrolls and stuff.    But makes me wonder if Deathknights will come to, or at least be unlocked later with some key like that rumor a while back.

The bridge may be a content

Shihli — Mon, 08/25/2008 - 17:02

The bridge may be a content patch, but considering that they haven't touched upon a number of classes (rogues, priests, mages have yet to see any significant polish) and haven't touched upon dps scaling of ANY classes ... WotLK will likely be a few months yet to come.

Wrath may come sooner than

saedo — Mon, 08/25/2008 - 16:37

Wrath may come sooner than later:  http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=9236465187&sid=1

According to that the "bridge" patch will come in a few weeks, which could mean expansion out a few weeks after that.

With the release of Wrath of the Lich King
approaching, we wanted to provide you with some important information.
In preparation for the expansion, we will be issuing a new content
patch in the coming weeks. Much like the patch made available shortly
before The Burning Crusade's release, this content patch is designed to
bridge current game content with that of the expansion and will contain
some exciting changes and additions.

We have outlined some of the larger features scheduled to release with the patch below:

New class spells and talents

Stormwind Harbor

Barbershops in capital cities

Zeppelin towers outside of Orgrimmar and Tirisfal Glades

Two brand-new Arenas featuring challenging new layouts, terrain hazards, and moving obstacles

Guild calendar

Hunter pet skill revamp

New profession: Inscription

As mentioned above, this is not a comprehensive list, just some of
the major highlights. We’ll post the full patch notes as soon as
they’re available. Regarding Inscription, please note that all Burning
Crusade players will be able to select Inscription as one of their two
professions and level up to a skill level of 375 with it. Upon the
release of Wrath of the Lich King, players who purchase and install the
expansion will be able to continue leveling in Inscription and the
other professions beyond 375.

fjork, the prot pally

Epatrick — Fri, 08/22/2008 - 16:34

fjork, the prot pally changes will be huge come WotLK, we won't need spell hit really at all, as all of our gear/talents/skills will be based off of our strength and weapon dmg (hammer of the righteous looks to be sweet as buttah right now)

saedo — Fri, 08/22/2008 - 15:06

Think of it this way, they are the "gem slots" to your spell book.   You get 6 slots, 3 big ones, 3 small ones.    Insert what you want.  Previous one in there destroyed.

Ya they're like the gems

saedo — Fri, 08/22/2008 - 16:13

Ya they're like the gems that way.   Wonder how much it'd cost to make?

The major ones at least I'd suspect would take maybe a few stacks of herbs or whatever the new black/fel lotus is there.    That'd be a way to make it less feasible to tailor your glyphs to every fight or something.

Hmm . . . I guess you're

Dufe — Fri, 08/22/2008 - 10:30

Hmm . . . I guess you're right. Hybrid classes in general could be grabbing gear that is currently only either spell or physical oriented (crit/hit/haste only) knowing that it will be more viable for them for the first few levels.  Or even shadow priests, now that there is no "+healing" gear, can get a little bit of whatever and use it regardless of spec.

Also keep in mind that a number of hybrid classes are having their itemization entirely reworked. I don't expect all changes we see now to be final, but things like AP from Int have been seen for certain classes.
