Thank god Matthew hates sports! If I had been asked at a stupid game like that I would have ripped his balls off right there on the basketball court and slam dunked them. Then punched the mascot in the face.
That has to be fake!!! The look on her face really bugs me for some reason and I cant put my finger on it. The whole thing looked like something that would be on WWE or some crap like that! I agree with him doing it more for him than for her if it was truly real. I would never do that but mainly because the thought of rejection in front of all those people would kill me!!!

See that's the point...he's not proposing to just her...he's trying to make himself feel validated for doing it. uck...makes me think he really really could use that counciling.
I just don't dig the way this poor schmoe went about it. He really set himself up for failure - if she says yes, then everyone's happy and life goes on.
If she says no (which she did), then he looks like a miserable loser, and she looks like a b**** - regardless of what kind of people they really are, that's how the crowd will interpret it.
If she'd said yes, everyone would've expected it ... in the eyes of the audience, this guy had everything to lose and very little to gain (insofar as they were expecting her to say yes - the "gain" would've just been meeting expectations).
Well I know this; When I was growing up and thinking about being proposed to...center court of any sport did not figure into the image. Any guy who thinks that is what his gf wants had better know her very VERY well. I understand its the 'I want the whole world to know how I feel' chromosome kicking in, but use the 'is this really really something my girlfriend would want to remember her whole life?' braincell to counter and pretty much the outcome will be the right one.
And I truely feel for the guy...and was impressed the girl stuck to her guns...I wonder what happens next for em both?
My wife (when she was still my gf) told me if I proposed at a baseball/basketball game, she was going to backhand me in front of the world then take the ring and throw it into the crowd.
