What talent build do you use to raid?:

This is my restoration shaman build so far: http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=hZxZEcxtAestcd I figured the +5% to mana in the Enhancement tree would help a lot for healing. I'm still deciding if 2 more points in Focused Mind is better than 2 points in Improved Reincarnation. Any advice from resto shamans would be greatly appreciated.

Tell us a little about how your class contributes to a raid.:

As a resto shaman, my main contribution is raid healing. I will be focusing on keeping the raid up with my Chain Heal. When/if that is not needed, I will be casting Healing Wave on the main tank. My totems are also very helpful to a raid, increasing my groups spell damage and healing, mana regain, strength, agility, attack speed, and many other enhancements for the party. I've made macros and I'm also learning to Totem Twist for Wind fury whenever that is needed.

What role are you most comfortable/geared playing?:

Healing

Would it be a problem if you had to wait 3 weeks or 3 months to get into raid?:

Nope, I would expect it to take that much time. With many other people applying for the guild, and many more in the guild, it requires patience. I haven't hit lv70 yet, and there's a lot I need to do to get ready to raid in 25 mans once I hit lv70. Like lots of kara and 5-man instances for badges.

List the instances you have experience in, and the farthest you have been in that instance.:

I didn't raid much pre-BC. As for BC, I have defeated everything in Mag, SSC, TK, Hyjal except for Vashj, Kael, and Archimonde. I've played a Mage and a Priest in these instances. My favorite to play as is a holy priest, healing is by far the the most fun in these instances. This time around, I'm going to be a Resto Shaman.

What is your favorite 25-man BC Boss encounter, and why?:

My favorite BC boss fight would Vashj. This fight requires a lot of group communication, fast reactions and most of all, multitasking skills. I enjoyed healing my side of the circle, picking up the core and getting it to the reactor. Unfortunately, we were never able to kill Vashj.

What is your least favorite 25-man BC Boss encounter, and why?:

Hmm..Its tough to pick out a least favorite, there all a lot of fun. I suppose Archimonde isn't much fun when people keep dieing to the fire 1 minute into the fight.

Why have you chosen to apply to Downfall?:

My RL friend Vulk(/Ryan) is in the guild. My brother (Striffington), and friends from Malice, Cihe(Shane), Drakie(Jared) are also applying to the guild.

What do you expect to get out of Downfall membership?:

To further my knowledge in the storyline of WoW by defeating the bosses. Illidan would be at the top of the list.

How do you feel you will contribute to the downfall community?:

As a loyal and active member, by attending raids I sign up for, and giving Downfall a good name by meeting other players.

My original name is "Jocoaf". I got it from randomly typing in letters for a save file on the PS game, Oddworld. Since then, I've made different variations of the name. You can pronounce it in whatever way you think it should be. I played FFXI for 4 years, and my name on there was Eddardstark. So now I decided to combine the two names, to make Jocoafstark. :D

How do you feel about mods, particularly in a raid setting?:

Mods are extremely helpful. I couldn't imagine healing a 25 man raid without healbot. Right now I'm testing a totem mod, and playing with some totem macros make my life as a shaman healer easier.

I like the attitude. While I am not 100% there at being an expert resto, I definatly have a good grasp at this point as to what is needed and where to get it. If he gets in I will gladly help him out with knowing which gear and gems and whatnot as I am going to be working with Torvo on the same. I think if Fel is starting his group a good shammie would help his raid as well as give him tons of oppurtunities to boost his gear. I approve

Thank you for your application to Downfall. We are not currently recruiting for our 25 man MH/BT/SW raids. This does not mean that your application is or will be rejected. What it does mean, is that you will now be faced with a few tasks.

Downfall is a community first and foremost and a successful raiding guild second. First you need to ask yourself what it is you want from Downfall. If it's a spot in end game raid, and nothing more...then you may want to seek entry into another one of the many guilds on Gorgonnash.

If you desire a strong sense of community then get ready to work for it! When we talk about community, we aren't talking about the type of community that jumps when you say OMGRUNMYALTTHRUVC!!!! We're talking about a group for people who love this game we pour our lives into, people who will run things with you when they have time, people who may have their own special way of contributing to the community.

Now that you have applied (and if my wall of text didn't lose u 2 paragraphs ago), don't just sit there and hope someone will come hunt you down and say "HERE'S YOUR INVITE!!" because that simply will not happen. Those who gain entry into Downfall work for it. Members have waited upwards of 3 months or more to be part of our community. How do you ensure that you have every option to be the next addition?

Here's an idea:

Stay active on this thread, it's your application. You will receive feedback and recommendations. Don't take anything personal, if you can't take constructive criticism, you will never make it in guild chat. Applications are open to the entire community, not just officers, so if you were a douche to a member in the past, be ready for it to bite you in the ass.
If given goals to meet, make them.
Sign up for events you can make and which you are geared for. No need to sign up for MH/BT/SW, as those aren't testing grounds for new members. Focus on the Sunday Gruul/Mag run by yours truly or the Saturday SSC/TK run by Grasen. (of course ding 70 first...lol)
If you sign up...show up. No one likes an app who signs up for all raids and never shows. Be sure to send a tell to the raid leader so he/she knows you are available and ready to rock.
Download the raid pack. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT show up to a Gruul/Mag or SSC/TK without our required add ons. If you do not understand what you are looking at, then research it. If you still don't understand, post you're question and someone will help you. (If you think only bad players use mods, we can say our goodbyes right now)
Do everything you can to get your name out there, and show why you should be part of our community. Run 5 mans, Run 10 mans, participate in forum discussions.

If and when you are accepted into Downfall, you are strictly on a trial basis. If we invite you because you convinced us you were the worlds greatest healer/tank/random dps class, and you looooooooooove to run 5 mans...but you never run a thing, you never sign up for fun runs, and you burn out and don't sign on for 1+ months, don't be surprised if you find yourself guildless on log in one day.

It's very simple, don't say what we want to hear just to get in, because it will haunt you in the end. Be honest, and we will be fair.

So this is the third person of my crew (HAHA your my crew now) that I have seen app. He is just as smart as the rest of us and defiantly has his head glued on strait. He is defiantly a competent healer. Hell he was even brought in on Naj'entus when he was in blues and below 8.5k health BUFFED because he was that good. He even managed to keep himself alive too via well timed priest bubbles.

A thought just crossed my mind... I wonder what you would have to multiply their played time by to equal Pulse's played time :P

Sorry to disappoint you G but I think Jared may break the "while being intelligent and literate" lol. He is smart, knows how to play every char well, but may very well mispell every other word in his app. :P He is funny as hell too especially when he drinks. I've also heard rumors that Dave (Fredv [horde paladin] that you can see on the healing meters he linked) may also start up an alliance char.
