The scaling items have been said to be "of lv. 80 instance-blues quality) at lv. 80. I assume they would be similar throughout leveling - scaling to be appropriate to be instance-blue quality throughout.
Great idea, dunno about the execution though. Will have to see.

But on the "racial" weapons idea, I think you might be on to something. That actually sounds like a really kickass idea - we'll have to wait and see how it plays out.

Shihli — Thu, 09/11/2008 - 08:24No. Fishing poles, skinning knives, mining picks, and such aren't classified as a weapon. Even though they can be swing to deal damage, they do not technically count as a weapon (hence why you cannot use Sunder Armor while using a mining pick).
My guess is that "exotic weapons" will simply be a new type of weapon. Dunno what yet. It would be easier for Blizzard to give fishing poles, etc a classification in the existing weapons categories (e.g. staves for fishing poles, axes for mining picks) than it would be to program in an entirely new category. Methinks we'll see some snazzy weapons in WotLK.
