Etc/GMT-8
Sign up if you'd be available to go back for some Illidan shots. We saw phase 5 and I know we can kill him this week. I encourage everyone to sign up. Both LF1M and Hamfist let me know if you're available. If we don't have enough LF1M raiders on we can fill with Hamfist you guys are up to helping us out.
Let's do it!

Garreth, I'll hop on tonight

So here's how we do it: We
saedo — Mon, 09/15/2008 - 12:53So here's how we do it:
We arc Illidan back and forth around the grate. The raid is spread out and always in range of the tank as long as Illidan is moved along the grate (ie no moving back no moving north unless need be). The raid stays spread out without moving for any reasons other than the parasites.

Okay, got it ... that seems
Shihli — Mon, 09/15/2008 - 12:49Okay, got it ... that seems like it could be awkward, and I think I know why Grov occasionally gets insta-gibbed that way.
Again, typically pulling Illidan straight west at the beginning of Phase 3 will involve dragging him through a flame or two. While this isn't a huge problem for Grov (he's taking damage anyway), unless you have healers waiting for him on the west side of the room Grov may end up walking out of the healers' range.
Typically, Hamfist - after killing the flames - regroups north of the grate at the beginning of Phase 3. Once he lands and Orky/Pudo has him, the MT starts dragging him north while the raid fans out to cover the rest of the room - this way, the MT is kiting Illidan towards (but not into) his healers, and won't go out of range.
So long as the communication is there about what the healers have to do, either way shouldn't be a problem. Pulling him north guarantees no dragging Illy through flames, though - and likely means healers won't be out of range.
Which would mean that you
Shihli — Mon, 09/15/2008 - 12:32Which would mean that you guys pull Illidan north (and not west) - Akama starts by the Northeast pole.
Semantics, I know.
Let me rephrase...we pull
Aidin — Mon, 09/15/2008 - 12:42Let me rephrase...we pull him north yes...initially. Then comes the flame dudes in phase 2 ..THEN Grov pulls him West.
Uhh I may not remember which
saedo — Mon, 09/15/2008 - 12:23Uhh I may not remember which way is north. Is north where Illidan is standing at the start when everyone's on the grate?
So going North would mean backing up? To the back where Akama hangs out and away from the grate? So inching back makes healers inch foward?
---------------------------------------------
lol yea North is where the
Aidin — Mon, 09/15/2008 - 12:28lol yea North is where the whole thing starts. The way I saw it executed they took Illy back toward the pole closest to Akama's starting position..and would move him as needed.
The lock was by the other pole, ready to pick him up and they just ping ponged him.
I would drag Illidan north
Shihli — Mon, 09/15/2008 - 12:18I would drag Illidan north instead of west, as has been stated if he goes west you could run through a host of flames on the way there, and it's not the initial phase that's the issue...it's later tank swaps between Grov and Watches that we're talking about.
As for general movement, as Saedo explained Illidan should be moved in an arc around the grate in the center of his platform. But you guys are probably already doing that.
Flames aren't an issue.
Aidin — Mon, 09/15/2008 - 12:20Flames aren't an issue. Grov can drag Illy's big ass thru flames with no problem.
My question is W vs. N ...why or why not?
Can your healers follow and
saedo — Mon, 09/15/2008 - 11:54Can your healers follow and heal at the same time?
There were times when Hamfist went back there and there were some issues of oops out of range can't heal splat dead.
Arcing back and forth around the grate means little movement required and a clear location for the parasites to be at.
But whatever works for you guys.
And the chick should help you regardless of where you are. Just the traps are a bit randomly placed.
---------------------------------------------
I'm not sure i follow Saedo.
Aidin — Mon, 09/15/2008 - 12:15I'm not sure i follow Saedo. Why does West and North change the healers getting into position in time?
(Grov goes splat sometimes West cause we moved to slow, for me it would be less area to travel if we went north, unsure about others though.)
Question: In phase 3/4, why
Desteran — Mon, 09/15/2008 - 11:36Question: In phase 3/4, why do we tank Illidan on the left side. It seems like in most videos I have been watching they bring him back up north. Bringing him north should allow for:
1) Less chance of having to pull him through flames
2) More room for the raid to spread in demon form.
3) Clear kiting path for Grov.
Any thoughts?
Edit: Parasite areas can stay where they were in phase 1.
When I saw Illidan die he
Aidin — Mon, 09/15/2008 - 11:39When I saw Illidan die he was to the north as well. The MT also moved toward that chick that helps kinda like Thrall in MH. Brining him north I think would put Grov closer to her.
So why do we go West?
NOOO ATAR WE MUST DO

We had people standing too
Atar — Mon, 09/15/2008 - 08:45We had people standing too close to each other. Plus, we had a small episode some parasites. We just have to remember to stay calm and execute the fight correctly. This week will be much better I think.
What happened at
