Nintendo DS

Ok, so I'm getting a Nintendo DS. I want one, I have an income now (how cool is THAT?!) and Ive got enough free time on my hands that I want to be able to do something fun besides just watching TV.
What are some good games? I LOVE RPGs, especially the FF series. I do NOT like Animal Crossing (sorry Shi and Alli. :P). I love puzzle games and shooters like Gears of War and BioShock.
With this criteria in mind, please give recommendations! And even if the game DOESN'T fall into any of my criteria, tell me anyway! What's good? And does anyone have Guitar Hero for the DS? It looks... really interesting, and since I'm not getting a 360 for a few months, I was thinking about getting it.

My favorite place for DS games is http://www.metacritic.com/games/ds/ - they average out all the reviews for a game then post that average. Pretty much anything in their top 20 (in a genre that you like) would be a great game.
