Well I'm not too sure how it
Ewiges — Wed, 09/24/2008 - 16:18Well I'm not too sure how it will work. The WSG ended before I could get more details on how they do it. But through my imagination I made this picture up. I don't know much about priests, but I assumed 3 nonstop CoH could outheald an encapsulate. Meaning "Encapsulate on Shihli" (lets say group 3) All CoH priests (should be 3 no matter what) would CoH on shih healinga ll of g3. How much CoH does, no idea.
Now biggest problem i see is what if 2 seconds before or after encapsulate we get the mass dispell thing. That is also a priest move right?
with the resist and an
Sorreah — Wed, 09/24/2008 - 15:34with the resist and an average 10k HP this would be healable
though lets look atit from a reality view.
Most ppl hover around 80% for this fight at best
SO you have 6 second
cut to 5 to account for targeting
thats 2 maybe 3 casts of CoH with global cooldown
you have to make up almost 7k dmg overkill before we even talk about survival
average CoH is say 1000 ( from last WWS ) So you would NEED 3 priests just to make sure people lived and that is baring mistakes or non resists or low hp to start (which is fairly common here )
So even with 4 CoH priests added that much raid dmg to an already huge dmg fight is something that would really need to be looked at as a last resort for a dps push
there is to much dmg already flying around this damn fight
In which case, we should all
Shihli — Wed, 09/24/2008 - 15:15In which case, we should all get to farming mats for that cloak and enchant.
I'm guessing the entire raid
saedo — Wed, 09/24/2008 - 15:13I'm guessing the entire raid needs Arcane Resist. It's 21K raw damage over 6 seconds to the entire group otherwise.
I've seen this strat on EJ before and it's everyone wearing cloaks and trinkets. Which theoretically averages out to 14.7K raw damage over 6 seconds to the entire group.

garreth — Wed, 09/24/2008 - 15:13Check this for Friday:
Ag, Keisj, Lorb, Cap, Jai(?) and possible Ablonde ALL as CoH. "You heal this group, spam coh on that group during encap". We don't move, we blow up skellies, we win.
WTB Lorb/Cap/Jai on Friday.

The one huge advantage that
Shihli — Wed, 09/24/2008 - 15:10The one huge advantage that I can see in this strat, Ewiges - is that there is no lost time for dps.
When encapsulate hits, it forces a whole group to move for ~6-8 seconds. In that time, as many as 5-6 dps'ers are forcibly moved and must stop attacking while they move.
On average, a group will consist of ~4 dps'ers and they will move for ~7 seconds. Most of our dps are hitting the 1700 mark for dps, so 1700 dps x 4 dps'ers x 7 seconds = 47,600 damage lost. Every time a group moves for encapsulate, we lose 47,600 potential damage done - this is about 0.68% of her total health.
Given that we have to deal with anywhere from 4-8 encapsulates in a typical, "to enrage" fight with Felmyst, that means we lose out on 190,400 to 380,800 damage due to moving from Encapsulates - meaning we have to deal 2.5 to 5% more raid-wide damage as a result to make up for that lost damage.
TL;DR version - less moving = more damage, more damage = dead boss.
However, I'm still concerned with the raid healing required by this strat.
I like it, honestly. How
garreth — Wed, 09/24/2008 - 15:07I like it, honestly. How does melee get healed? This strat looks like it REQUIRES five CoH healers, not four.

Well this is just a quick
Ewiges — Wed, 09/24/2008 - 15:02Well this is just a quick mock up I drew in MSart, like I said was talking to some guys from destromath during a WSG. This is what I got out of it. I was waiting til either tomorrow or the weekend to bring this up.
Currently we ARE improving on our strat and there is no way either strat should prevent us from killing felmyst. With that said lets keep trying to proove our current strat. If we do get to the point where a majority of the raid feels like we are not improving, this could be an indea in the air.
It's an option, however
Shihli — Wed, 09/24/2008 - 14:25It's an option, however having 4 CoH priests is going to be another story.
We don't have Jaibyrd until later this week, Sorreah won't be raiding anymore, and we can only use Captnopants and Lorb on a Friday/Monday basis.
So it gives us Fridays and Mondays, at best, to work on Felmyst. Furthermore, it requires people to ... well ... manage to not die, something we haven't demonstrated a lot of strength at in any cases.
I believe you were telling
Lorb — Wed, 09/24/2008 - 14:11I believe you were telling me with this layout you do not run when someone in your grp gets incapsulate. You just heal through it with a total of 3 Coh priest hitting the grp.
