Guide to Curse Client and Matrix

I heard the Wowace updater was going to stop working or something, but truly, I haven't used that for months.
The Curse client is an awesome utility that lets you view all your mods, update all your mods, and also easily install new mods.
The Curse client has 4,623 addons you can keep updated, install, or just read about. (No I did not count, it says so on their front page)
How to get started, though you will need an account, we can do that later.
First, go to www.curse.com On their front page, a little bit down from the top you will see Curse Network Services: Addons/ Curse Client/ Database/ Pvpstats
I think you will know which one to click. Go through the simple steps and get the client installed.
After following all the steps of installation, open the program. You will now see a log-in screen. If you don't have a curse login, go ahead and click create new account.
Once you account is made and you log in, it'll go to your addon window. Go ahead and press refresh.
This is the screen you will love. But first go ahead to the toolbar and set up your configs to how you will like them.
Overview: From the WoW tab, you can see all your addons, Installed date, and latest date. Go ahead and click Check for Updates. You will now see that some of your dates vary. If most of them vary, go ahead and shif-click all the mods. Click update addon. You will see a tab in the bottom right of your screen updating all your mods.
Searching for new mods: Clicking the Find Addon tab will take you to the database. Click the 'get list' button and it will soon display all the addons on curse.com. You can search the entire database here. Clicking on one will show you a brief description and other info about the mod. You can also see the link for their webpage on curse from this area. If you want the mod, just click install.
The curse client is that easy guys, I can't even describe how much I love this. "But I use ace mods" its ok, most (if not all) ace addons are on the curse website.

Ewiges — Tue, 10/14/2008 - 15:16Saedo has a point, I also will agree getting through today and tomorrow it is better to get an incomplete yet compatible version of the mods.
Curse will not update their mods until the developers post them in their database. Thus it may be hours if not days before curse has their newest version.

saedo — Tue, 10/14/2008 - 15:08I'm gonna hijack this with a guide to WoWMatrix: http://www.wowmatrix.com/
First, download your PC/Mac/Linux version and unzip it.
Then it's ready to go, double click to start.
One thing that impressed me here is that it found my real WoW Folder automatically (mine's not at the default location, well a copy still is).
Anyways, it scans the mod's author's website(s) for updates giving you the most current release direct from them. Kinda like WAU but not limited to Ace Mods. Curse only does the "Official Releases", not the daily/hourly new builds.
Downside is that it's completely dependent on their servers so if they're down, it can't find it.
Also, there's a Launch WoW Button so you can start up WoW right there, while it closes itself.
