I apologize
Noctis Umbra — Thu, 08/06/2009 - 14:46I apologize for not being active recently. I just needed a long break from the game. I have actually begun working on my professions for real this time. I am halting my progress at the time being while I work on getting my engineering flyer made.
Once my professions are max, I will begin addressing the flaws and "cheapness" with my gear. I appreciate all the help I have gotten from you guys especially the EP1! group, Rayne, and Ryu) a couple months ago and hope I can work my way up to expectations.

1. Damn, you kept dying in P1 of all places. That can only be pulling aggro off Aboms. Install Omen. Watch Omen. Also, use Tricks of the Trade, try to get mages, I mean tanks killed with them. It's what it's for, survive.

So is this what happens when people stop checking your armory? Busy for 2 weeks with friends isn't an excuse (even then it was 3 weeks ago for that post), unless you wanna say you got all that new gear in 1 day. What you should be doing is enchanting and gemming (good gems) the day of getting items, next day at the latest. To have 8+ items like that is just lazy.

Noctis Umbra — Wed, 07/01/2009 - 19:20To tell you the truth, I was sorely disappointed with myself on the Sapph and KT fights. I did pretty well for the first 4 wings and I am not sure what happened myself to be honest. As far as my gear goes, well you are correct part of it may be laziness. I shoulda had some of that done way before now.
The day after that post my internet went down for 3 days and then I went out of town for 2 weeks. This past week and a half I have only really been on for 2 days. One was doing arena with friends and the other was the mALT run. The rest of my time was spent hanging oout with friends in real life.

The people you surround yourself with have an effect on how others see you. And your guild members that we brought in were not making a good one on you in the eyes of some of the higher ups. I know we were desperate for dps but i think it's safe to say they won't be seeing an invite again.
So that being said, you need to keep striving to do your best to show that you are above and beyond the likes of Jonimus and Cenaface by kicking ass in ulduar.
I know those two a fair amount and i can bet that they don't really give two shits about getting to down yogg saron or Vezax, as long as I've known them they've never cared about nothing as far as raiding.
So, with that said, i pat you on the back for making the effort to get this far, commend you on your success and encourage you to keep at it!!!!

Looking at your numbers across the fights, you were pretty consistent while you were up, but you seemed to turn it up an extra notch against Deconstructor... Especially on try 1 and try 2 when you led the DPS charts. What were you doing differently on those fights that your output took such a huge leap?
The XT parse is very weird.

Cause the diff is Heart. Whoever hits the heart will double their dps.

I would expect the other dps to go up as well, giving everyone the double dmg and maintaining roughly the same ranking in the charts.
Best utilization of CDs to optimize dmg on heart maybe?

Noctis Umbra — Sun, 05/31/2009 - 16:44Overall, I was just getting a feel for Ulduar in general as it was my first run. I am not the fastest at picking up what I need to avoid but repetition is key. There will be less deaths and greater performance as the fights become more familiar to me. I appreciate the time you all spent on commenting on the parses. I wll continue to improve every week.

One part, you should've been healed too to survive it. Though I suppose if you didn't cause massive amounts of raid damage in those moments, heals might have been better directed towards you, I can't be sure.
Here' s a tip, Cloak of Shadows. Learn it, use it. Takes these debuffs out of the equation. If all else fails. Run faster.

However, i am going over paresss again to see which fights and remember what mistakes I made. I am pretty aware of mistakes as I make them. Not all but some. as logn as i can manage to improve every weekend I am happy. ^_^

Torvo — Tue, 05/12/2009 - 14:30Just look for ways to get better every week. Being dead is not an excuse for lower damage... You're putting out 0 damage during the time you spend on the floor. Not all deaths are your fault, but work on your survivability. Keep healthstones and pots on your hotbar (or bind them to a key). I notice you didn't pop a single one of either during the full raid.

Noctis Umbra — Wed, 05/13/2009 - 01:33Well being dead should not be at all. I know all my deaths were my fault. I reacted too slow to aggro from Loatheb. I reacted too slow KT's void zones, and to be honest I blow at the dance.
I try to remain aware of mistakes I make. Like realizing when I drop something something like HFB or SnD and what may be the cause of it i.e., missing Envenom or avoiding a boss attack. I can say that since this application I have been putting forth an effort to become a better rogue. ^_^

i took a couple nights off this past weekand did some heroics to practice my spec more. This coming week, I plan on maxxing out my professions before next Saturdays raid. Also I am gonna try to get mongoose on my daggers for the time being.

saedo — Mon, 05/11/2009 - 01:43I see nothing wrong with Patchwerk himself. Looks like you got the whole rotation refreshing buffs up thing going on now.
Overall for the night, it just seems dps time is lower. At least for trash you appear to be trying to Fan of Knives, though not so much for others. I suppose it is a weakness of the spec. You prob don't have quite the gear to push it the timers to the limts yet that allows for a bit more aoe opportunity.
But a reiteration. If you can afford to (timers all well and good), 3 or more mobs, Fan of Knives.
So get those profs levelled. Get whatever stat upgrades you can get.
Ok, looking at your armory right now...
Fix all this first before you dump gold into professions. This will give FAR FAR FAR MORE stats. Which in turn, means dps!

Not sure if it was just wanting to redeem yourself after you messed up charges on the first shot, but I was really - REALLY pleased to see the results out of you on the second one.
Keep up the good work. I want to see more of this (and less of the crossing charges goofs) in the coming weeks, and I have a good feeling about your ability to deliver.

He has been getting a lot of nice gear in the 3 or 4 weeks he has been raiding with us and to have people like healanoid cracking the top 10 in his secondary spec and him not is weak! Right after that he made a really good dps showing and made sure to tell him so.
Work on your AOE for the trash and get those numbers up. There is no reason that you and biana shouldnt be neck and neck and in the top 5 of overall damage. Gear is def not the issue now.

After seeing that, I was shocked that I did not have 100% on any other boss. It was strange really. Thank you all for the feedback and I shall continue to become better every weekend.
Btw, I should be getting my mining engineering up to 300 tonight and then it should become easier. (280% speed for mining will do wonders.) Also I have mongoose on my main hand as of last night. ^_^

Noctis Umbra — Sat, 05/02/2009 - 21:04Alrighty i will keep these things in mind. i have been Mutilate for like 5 days so I still got a bit of work to do on getting everything down. However, not sure if it's bad luck or an overall expertise issue (had 9 expertise during this fight) but envenom was missed (dodged according to recount) like 26% of the time which does affect the SnD uptime. I am thinking that if this problem reoccurs I will manually reactivate SnD at 3s to ensure it is up 100%. HFB i will renew at 5 seconds or less. I was pretty well aware of alot of the mistakes i made during the run. I'll use cb near the beginning of the fight and again middle to end of a fight. Vanish, I'll probably do something similar to maximize its use. Thank you for the feedback.
