Guild Application - Druid Healer and Shaman

Hello, I am here to apply for Downfall guild on my 70 resto druid and shaman. I am an expieranced end-game raider and have been so for quite some time. I have been in groups that have full cleared Kara/Zul'Aman/Gruul's Lair/Magtheridon's Lair on my healing druid. My shaman has only been to kara but has full cleared it.
For Raids I enjoy using the mod (DeadlyBossMods), which is a great help in boss fights. As a healing druid i also use mods such a lifebloomer and quartz which help keep an eye on my Healing over time spells and when they need to be recast.
I am available to raid Almost every day of the week depending on the time. Sunday i am unavailable. Tuesday and Thursday i am available after 9 p.m. (if you do late raids). As for Monday, Wednsday, Friday, Saturday any time after 5 Works great.
My long term goal is stick with this guild and become a raider in which can be counted on to be on for a raid when time works and to get gear and grow to ultimately bond and stay with this guild. I am also looking to move onto SSC and The Eye.
I work well with everyone, and aside WOW i do enjoy other computer games and to read, play chess, and have been doing karate for 9+ years and have reached the rank of Tutor.

- Never uses the website and has no idea what's going on ever
- Hasn't participated in anything surrounding the community

Agoney — Thu, 04/03/2008 - 09:38Well, don't take this personal, its more of an objective view of a whole situation. In this case, Nightwalkers is sitting in Kara gear. Hamfist is done with SSC/TK, and LF1M I assume probably has maybe another week or so left in those two instances. I would assume it would require really great skill (like, 10/10) to even match any of the current healers output in the two raids we have.
If he has the skill to keep up, give him a trial. If not, there are a lot of other guilds beginning to clear ssc/tk. Like I said, its not personal, It just irks me when we gear people up and they sit in guild refusing to raid, or just gquit all together.

Ardea — Thu, 04/03/2008 - 09:25My experience with Night is that he pops on vent and tries to participate and be helpful... even if it is 2 resto druids trying to kill things and get dailies done... He has been more than willing in wanting to help out and do stuff with the guild.
Night is young and willing to help out. We raided MC together multiple times when he was in Damage Inc... a long time ago... where he seemed (I wasn't in the guild but a lot of the guild are close friends) like a valuable raid member (lol@40-mans).
I really do not see the above being a problem... well besides he can be a bit pushy in trying to be involved. =p
Why did I wait to give a recommendation? MC was a long time ago. I am not the best judge of player skill. I HATE to be proven wrong!

garreth — Wed, 04/02/2008 - 21:23Night was app'd on the previous downfall site for a month before we rebuilt it here. He's been app'd here for over a month.
We're going to try something different with Nightwalkers. You see, I'm sick of inviting people who want to come in and "be helpful" who either never log in nor never offer to help out others.
Nightwalkers is going to get a probationary invite. What that means is that we're ginviting a guy that will be here to help other guildies, be dependable if he's raiding and have a great personality.
If he hasn't been these things, all told, by the end of his month we'll remove him. We need GOOD people in Downfall, people that we can count on. We simply can't invite more people that really aren't bringing anything to the guild.
This means helping even the lowliest sub-70 with a quest or 2, being dependable for whatever raid needs you, not being full of yourself or annoying. Since Night and Turth seem to have their stuff worked out, I'm more comfortable doing this.
Understand that a ginvite means all cameras are on you, Night. If you say or do anything stupid, I'm going to hear about it and boot your ass out.
Be the guy we can count on.

As for raid availability my schedule is pretty set and is the same each week until the summer of course.
Which is: Monday, Wednsday, Friday, Satruday are all open and.... Tuesday / Thursday after 9, or Sunday up till 4 and sometimes after 9:30
As for the turth check i'll get right on that and speka with him as soon as i see him. ^_^, get everythign all squared out.

Nothing worse than a new guildy that doesn't get to raid who then gquits. We just want to make sure that we don't overpromise and underdeliver on anything.

Granted, we all know this is your first time really dps'ing on your shammy in a 25 man raid, so this isn't a big concern right now. However, we'd like to see you put some more time in your gear. Also, we really need raiders that can make all 3 nights of the LF1M raid: Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. We just simply cannot have any more raiders in LF1M that can only make one or two of the nights.
Hit me back with some feedback and, once again, I really do appreciate your patience. We take the time because we don't take ginvites lightly and we want to make sure we have the highest quality people in guild. Your attitude has been great this entire time. Also, can I please ask that you work our the issues that Turth has with you, from the MC days, personally. I value his opinion of people highly -- he's made some really good calls on guildies and ex-guildies in the past -- and he's one of our most core members.
If anything, this teaches us all the there really can be consequences in WoW. So, to summarize: 1) Gear check, 2) Raid availability check, 3) Turth check.

We have a "Downfall Raid Pack" that I would suggest downloading. It is a bundle of add-ons that are really helpful in and out of raid. At least make sure you have Ora2, BigWigs, Omen, and Grid. They are amazing and really make raiding easier.

1. You mentioned some good mods that you use for healing. What kind of raid frames do you use? Ever heard of / tried Grid?
2. How did you hear about Downfall? What made you want to app to our community?
3. Our SSC/TK raid runs (I'm pretty sure on this...Atar will correct me if not I'm sure) Tues, Wed and Fridays. Every now and they they throw in a 4th night if needed. Could you make these 3 nights consistantly.
4. Last question...We are a diverse group of ppl here in downfall. We have 15 yr old goofballs, gay couples getting married, an aussie with FILTHY FILTHY FILTHY mouth, a 35 yr old mother of 2, ..and yet we all seem to mesh. Tell us a little about you, how you deal with conflict, how you handle something you might find a little offensive, and your ability to communicate with people of different social backgrounds.

I am online every day, as for raiding day consistently, it would have to depend on the time of day the raid would take place because i work on sunday and tutour at my karate class tuesdays and thursday which kind of brakes up the raid days into chunks...
But, let me know what raid times are and i'll see if i can adjust to those because i am a serious raider.
As for my shaman i saw a second post about my shaman scaring you? My druid is what i am looking to play the most for Serious raids, my healer and my shaman is more casually played.
