Dual Specs

I don't know how many people actually know this or not, but I have recently found a few problems with dual spec.
I'm leveling an alt and someone in an AV had a mod called rank watch. Basically If I was casting a rank 4 flash heal when my max was rank 6, I received a whisper from the guy saying that I was downranking. I didn't do this on purpose.
The problem at the moment is that if I go to a trainer and train (I'll keep using my priest as an example) Power Word Shield to rank 5, the PWS on my bars for my ACTIVE SPEC automatically changes; however, it will not automatically change the PWS to the new rank on my inactive spec. You also can not train new ranks of spells only available to a particular spec (such as Pyroblast for mages or mindflay for priests, etc. etc) unless the spec that that particular spell is gained is the active spec. Hope all this makes sense.
Anyway, an easy way to get around this is to download an addon called Ranked. Basically, once you train all your new spells for both specs, you just type /ranked_update and it'll automatically increase all of the spells on your action bars to max rank. Remember you have to do this for both specs.

This is a great heads up for

I know I've made that mistake before, Grasen has made that mistake before, and other people you might not expect. A quick check with this mod is all it takes.
Good call on this. However,

However, watch out if you have spells that you WANT to be downranked on your bars...i.e. a rank 1 Lifetap or hellfire to stack a trinket prior to combat.
or Rank 1 frostbolt because
Alprazalam — Sat, 06/19/2010 - 21:26or Rank 1 frostbolt because of the quick cast time and to get the slow on the enemy flag carrier real fast!!!!
