ReadID : Good and Bad

Ok, I've seen it everywhere "RealID is fail fail fail" I for one like it honestly, I don't see any real downside to it. If you don't want people to know your every toon, then don't give it out, that simple. Yes, if a hacker gets a hold of someones account they will have access to those emails. Don't get hacked, buy an authenticator. If you are worried about if the other person has one or not, ask or just don't give it out. Again simple solution. If you want to skip out on raid and lvl an alt no one knows about, again don't give out your email. RealID allows you to chat across factions and servers. Run a random with some awesome people, ask for their ID so you guys can keep in touch, maybe even convince them to xfer over to your server. So, now with what I believe are the down sides and my opinions on how to fix them, what are your opinions on why this is great/ok/or fail beyond belief.

I agree as well

The largest realid mistake so far has been the forum issue which blizzard was smart enough to change their mind about within a week.
does not work for me anyways.

Maltoheals — Wed, 07/14/2010 - 11:58Thats a bummer it really is handy
Honestly
Maltoheals — Wed, 07/14/2010 - 11:33Honestly I love it.....
Having only tranfered two toons to this server so far I am allowed to still keep incontact with my friends on the other server or my daughter.....
The downside ofcourse is when I am trying to log onto a anonymous toon -- EVERYONE CAN STILL FIND ME !!!!!
lol

cromi — Tue, 07/13/2010 - 17:55I like it, It's such a convenient and easy way to create a social environment. especially since I have too many horde friends in real life and across servers, which makes it easy to communicate with them.
But there is a problem with technical issues with the service. But that can be expected, because it is a complex implement to the entire battle.net and with every piece of new code there is always some issue and the real id system will occasionally crash,. It's like when people complain about having the internet and their internet going out, when ten years ago they wouldn't have.
And I think we should just merge our Facebooks, Twitter, WoW using real id, Google, and skype into twitter. And call it Skynet.
I have nothing against the
Derchlon — Tue, 07/13/2010 - 16:10I have nothing against the use of Real ID so long as it remains optional.
The only issue I have, is the mandatory use for forum posting. Since that has been recinded, I have no real overall objection to the system.
Agreed. No-body is forcing
Dufe — Tue, 07/13/2010 - 16:03Agreed. No-body is forcing you to give out your realID or accept requests from others. This has been great for when my brother or I are on the SC II beta and the other is in WoW. IMO, complaining about the impact realID is having on you is very much like drinking til you puke and then complaining that drinking is bad because it makes you puke.
