Help me make my UI
Ewiges — Fri, 11/05/2010 - 12:55
So when I came back at, what is it? 3.1? My enire (mostly) UI was scrapped. I tried downloading cruse client and updating the addons but that didn't work out too well. Here is a list of addons as well as an old screenshot of how I had my UI set up. Discussion to follow.
!Swatter
Auc (believe this is auctioner, with a bunch of these others combined)
Beancounter
BigWigs (bunch of folers)
Cartographer (I think I had this disabled)
Classtimer
Enchantrix
FuBar (duratek and moneyfu)
Gatherer
Informant
ItemRack
LibRock (no idea what this is, Im just listing folders)
Omen
oRA2 (leader, optional, participant)
Peggle (because Im pro)
Quartz (bunch of folders)
Ratingbuster (not needed anymore?)
RogueFocus
SlideBar
Stubby

Ok, so that image wasn't exactly how I had my UI when I retired but its pretty close. First off it seems my old chat setup is no longer possible. I haven't been able to get them to work like that anymore. The addons are also different on the list above as compared to the screenshot. But lets just discuss which of the ones listed are still needed and which can be changed to other addons. Itemrack is one thats been outdated for a long time. However, I still used it for its hotkeys on my trinkets, so if someone has a different trinket mod I can use that. I also used itemrack for a hotkey naked. Can the in-game item manager hotkey sets?

I got titanpanel instead of
Alprazalam — Fri, 11/05/2010 - 22:02I got titanpanel instead of chocolate bar to replace fubar. IDK what all is in cholate, but titan panel has alot of neat stuff already built into it like gold tracking, exp tracking, coords, durability, clock, etc.
It's practically the same
saedo — Fri, 11/05/2010 - 23:01It's practically the same thing. You just find LDB based modules, either mod should be able to display them.
Cool, thanks guys. Yeah, for
Ewiges — Sat, 11/06/2010 - 00:25Cool, thanks guys. Yeah, for fubar I got to the point of only using it for money, dura, and simple things like that. I had it at the bottom of the screen behind my stuff so it only appeared in those two corners. Took awhile to find something to fit in those corners. I like to utilize a lot of space ot maximize my playing field.
I picked this up quite awhile
Elapsed — Sat, 11/06/2010 - 19:50I picked this up quite awhile ago upon some good recomendation http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info15190-Broker_Everything.html
the addons are of course out of date but whats in there has been updated. so you can download the updates individually or with an addon updater
Lets take a step back Saedo,
Ewiges — Sun, 11/07/2010 - 02:01Lets take a step back Saedo, what is LBD?
Yea what Ghli said. Think of
saedo — Sun, 11/07/2010 - 15:17Yea what Ghli said.
Think of it as a standardization of bar mods. Instead of a FuBar vs Titanpanel in the past, most mods are following LBD (Broker) formats.
So with this, there are several bar mods around that will be able to do the same thing, display the same modules, etc. Pick the mod with the style you like the most.
I personally use Carousel. It does it in block format, make a little bar, insert mod in, move it anywhere on screen (I do corners too). The extra feature on it, is that I can merge several together into one block, and have arrows to click to cycle through them. Example, my Grid/Ora/etc option icon is all in a single block. I only see one of them at a time, so the block is only like the size of the icon, I flip through whenever I need to access options of a diff mod.
LDB is basically a "new"
Ghli — Sun, 11/07/2010 - 08:01LDB is basically a "new" format of FuBar. Before LDB, or Broker for short, if you had an addon that you wanted to display on titan panel but was coded for fubar, you either had to search for a new addon completely or find a converter for that addon. Now with Broker based addons, you are not stuck with the fubar format or titan panel format for addons or displays.
You still can use the fubar-style of display through chocolate bar, ninjapanel, or the new titan panel. If you wanted your displays for your addons to be as compact as you can, you can use Carousel, or something else, and have a toggle to switch between your addons. If you wanted your displays to show up in the middle of your screen, you can use StatblockCore, or something else.
Here's a decent list of LDB

If you want a lot more space, maybe a block based mod (like Carousel or Fortress) would suit you better than bar mods. Those just have blocks that you can move around anywhere, stick together, etc instead of one long bar across the screen.
Auctioneer still works but it
Ghli — Fri, 11/05/2010 - 14:25Auctioneer still works but it getting bloated. Swap to auctionlite.
bigwigs->DBM or DXE
cart (doesn't work at all) -> mapster+handynotes+Cromulent
classtimers is updated
fubar -> ChocolateBar Broker Display or any other LDB based displays
moneyfu -> broker_currency or any other broker based money addons
ora2 -> ora3 + Who's tanking frames or SimpleTankFrames (ora3 doesn't show tank frams nativly)
gatherer -> gathermate2
itemrack -> pick any other bag mod
If you want outfit management, use the blizzard built in gear manager, or outfitter or anything else.
omen-> omen3 or Skada Damage Meter (It can show threat and damage, and swap while in combat)
peggle should work, i haven't tried
quartz works with a full update
ratingbuster works, update
roguefocus -> EnergyWatch Reborn?(It looks like the same)
For Trinkets i'm still using TrinketMenu, and yes, there's keybindings for it.
