It's Hard or is it better
Maltoheals — Mon, 12/13/2010 - 06:15
Well it has been a fun leveling but have seen a common theme.....
People Saying this class is bad or that class is good etc..... Or these runs are hard lol...
I screw up with the best of them and have not done the research that I should in many cases but have to say this....
"I Love This Expansion - It makes People Think"............ I like
you have to work to get in raiding.... I like you have to play smart or
the healer can not keep you up ....... Make us all better players.... I
for one look forward to the challenges...
Check this post out .... It is well thought out and a direct response to the QQ'ing

Having not even hit 85 yet,
Pelana — Tue, 12/14/2010 - 03:10Having not even hit 85 yet, I've gotta say I love the difficulty changes so far. It was quite refreshing to see the dps warrior die on literally every single pull (ALL of them) in Storecore because he WW'ed too soon or stood in front of a cleaving mob, never learning from his mistakes. He finished with "I don't get it... I was really good before Cata". Pugging heroics is going to be a nightmare for the first few weeks/months until these people ragequit. Good thing we don't have to.
Im happy
Drewsta — Mon, 12/13/2010 - 09:35Weed out the baddies from the people who actually care? It's a new expansion, they can't do all the work for you. Keep it the way it is!
I agree don't change a thing
Maltoheals — Mon, 12/13/2010 - 11:10I agree don't change a thing if you ask me
Cheers Malto

Not to sound too blunt, but
Shihli — Mon, 12/13/2010 - 18:32Not to sound too blunt, but is it actually a healthy challenge now? As in, a legitimate challenge and not just a "lack of gear" like how early heroics in BC and WotLK were.
the first boss of The
Elapsed — Tue, 12/14/2010 - 10:26the first boss of The stonecore on heroic is simply not forgiving at all, not like WOTLK where not forgiving means, oops I almost died, no this not forgiving means SPLAT! you make one wrong move and SPLAT SPLAT SPLAT
We are quitting heroics at
Drewsta — Mon, 12/13/2010 - 23:14We are quitting heroics at times due to the difficulty. You actually have to farm regular dungeons to hit heroics and then it's another battle completely.
That's actually really good
Shihli — Mon, 12/13/2010 - 23:19That's actually really good to hear.
Yes it is very good I

I think Heroics should refine game play prior to Raids --- We want well tolled groups .....
It's definately different for
cromi — Tue, 12/14/2010 - 05:19It's definately different for many players.
Tank and spank is different for many dungeons. Because it means your supposed to tank smart. Even simple dungeon mechanics your tank cannot stand in void zones or fire. Doing a dungeon yesterday a tank stood in the lazers and died, he didn't understand that the damage from the big firy burny condensed plasma ray thingy will kill you. And that as a tank if you stand in fire your healer will go oom in less than 45 seconds, and your dungeon will be screwed. The same thing happened while leveling. I had a warrior who didn't understand that he was killing random dps and the healers when he pulled multiple mobs in the stonecore with no cc and expecting people to burn them down. It made the dungeon last and extra half an hour and us wipe once. Because no matter how many heals you put on a target if they have over a certain amount of mobs on them not to mention the random damage to dps.
Wotlk has ruined dungeon mechanics. People have a hard time understanding that you cannot come into a dungeon not cc, not look over who and what your pulling and expect to have a perfect run.
It's great in a sadistic sort of way. It makes pugging hard but dungeons more fun.
I'm fine with the lack of
FireWire — Tue, 12/14/2010 - 06:24I'm fine with the lack of understanding, but when people blame your heals for not being able to heal the tank through that, it is defiantely a HUGE pet peeve of mine
lol, that happens because
shroom — Tue, 12/14/2010 - 06:58lol, that happens because healers used to be able to heal through almost anything trash during wrath. New 80 tanks could pull whole rooms and the healer could keep them up. Without understanding how that has changed, healers are the obvious target when a group dies to only one group of mobs. That being said, when you run with one healer and he has no problem keeping the group up, and then another healer of the same class and spec who cant, its hard not being frustrated.
It is incredibly frustrating
cromi — Tue, 12/14/2010 - 08:43It is incredibly frustrating to have tanks and dps who do not understand basic mechanics. I remember running dungeons in classic, and in bc while leveling where you had to learn how to cc during the leveling process. But we can't really change how other players play so all we can do is try to explain what is going wrong. And give optimum heals for the process.
It's definately a new experience not topping off dps. Or having to heal the tank while letting a dps die. It's hard not to blow up characters hp to full. And in that respect it also has to change the way that players view good healing.
Time will tell if it truly
Eliz — Mon, 12/13/2010 - 22:33Time will tell if it truly is a healthy challenge... it's refreshing to not be able to walk into even a normal dungeon and ace it right off. I'm finding myself taking another look at spells I've rarely used and having to come up with an alternative style of play.
I love the challenge also
Maltoheals — Mon, 12/13/2010 - 10:06I love the challenge also .....
Have found challenges on both my shadow and holy spec's which make it interesting having to shift my play style
Thank god for duel spec also,
shroom — Tue, 12/14/2010 - 07:02Thank god for duel spec also, as a Fire/arcane Mage and feral/boom druid, ive noticed several dungeons where it is a huge advantage to switch specs after/for each boss. I remember some raids in BC where members would have to go respec during certain fights because we didnt have the gear to trivalize them and needed something different. Or even the Dog boss in Naxx before dual-speccing was an option, if you needed a frost mage, ret pally, or survival hunter to kite the adds in the back of the room. Pain in the arse.
I want a triple spec! Heals,
