WoWCubes Back On Sale: $699 For Great Raid Performance
garreth — Sat, 03/06/2010 - 01:14
I've been approached by many people regarding the ol' Cubes and thought I'd get my ordering/building system back up and going again. WoWCubes are back up and ready to be built for any and all that are looking for top notch raid performance.
Quick Specs:
- Windows 7 Home Premium, 32-bit
- AMD Athlon II X2 255 3.1Ghz Dual Core CPU
- 2 GB of DDR2 800 RAM
- Radeon 4850 1GB video card
- Seagate 500 GB 7200 RPM Hard Drive
- 460W Power Supply
This will be more than enough to tackle any and all raids we encounter at high frames (with pretties turned on!). WoWCubes I sold last summer continue to perform solidly in ICC, and this version is even more powerful than those. Every 'Cube I build, I hand tweak all network, video and audio settings to ensure they're tuned for the most performance possible.
The price is $699 + $35 shipping and handling. To place an order, simply PayPal me using: bloomcb@gmail.com
If you just want to build the thing yourself, PM me on the site and I'll send you the parts list.
Sorry guys, I have to quit

Downfall Thongs in the Cafe Press store?

I'm coming home!
chrislow — Thu, 02/04/2010 - 06:00
I'm coming home guys! But since i can't tell you exactly when, I'll just say by the end of this month! Don't expect me on right away though. Also, my wife has been playing her cow shaman and totally digs it, and when i come back i may not be alliance anymore.. unless i can convince her to change sides. She'll never apply to a guild though. So we'll see.
Anyway I can't wait to be home, out of the army for good, and getting back to school. Good shit.
PS. Make it so I can post a forum topic without it telling me I have to join a group first. What the hell is that about anyway?
Love uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Site's Back!
garreth — Wed, 01/27/2010 - 23:31
We Said We'd Be BackAaaaaaand we're back. We've moved to a new host and hopefully our massive lag is a thing of the past. I'd like to thank our new host, WebFaction! Let me know what you guys think.
Edit: There is currently an error when adding new content to the site. Please test this for me by adding a Blog or Forum post and look for the huge red error text at the top of the screen.
Edit 2: Part of the errors I'm getting are related to the (admittedly) humongous guild app fields. If you guys could all go to http://www.downfallguild.org/node/add/guild-app and get me some feedback on what fields we should take out, please post here.
Guild Meet Up 2010
Saja — Tue, 01/26/2010 - 12:10
Fellow Guildies -
This year is going to be different in a few ways:
1) We will be charging a nominal fee for attendance - $25-$30, which will include a T-shirt and will help cover the cost of some of the food/beverage for Friday and Saturday nights.
2) We will be offering Travel Assistance to those who need it (it might not be much, but we are working on the details). PM me any suggestions you may have.
3) Will will still have the donation fish bowl on Friday night for those of you who feel inclined to help in that way.
Some things I need from YOU:
1) Please PM me if you have space at your home for guests, and HOW MANY PEOPLE YOU CAN HOST. This is very important, so people are not stressed out.
2) I will be working with an area hotel inbetween the Garreth/Saja house and the Eluda/Chalaina household to get a group rate and block. Please PM me if you can or are willing to stay in a hotel. If we can we will group up 4 people in one room. Let me kmow ASAP so I can get a feel for how many rooms we will need to block out.
Committee, please feel free to comment about anything I have missed.

Derchlon's Brew Review #2
Derchlon — Sun, 01/24/2010 - 22:43
So today's Brew comes from Centralia Washington, a local-ish place considering it's on the other side of the state from me at the moment. Brew of the Week:
Dick Danger Ale
Dick Danger Ale is a dark ale, that is very easy to drink. If I had ordered it from a bar tab, I would have ordered another. It's malty, as you might expect from a dark ale, with a bitter after taste that lingers just long enough for your next swig. With a ABV of 5.2%, it's not a bad showing.
Here is what Dick's Brewing Co. has to say about their beer:
[Dick Danger Ale is] Our flagship beer. A large percentage of black malt give this
distinctive ale its dark brown/black color and that slightly roasted
flavor. Magnum hops provide a backbone of bitterness and large
additions of Mt. Hood hops later in the boil come right through in the
finish.
The result is a highly drinkable dark ale which bridges the gap between pale and porter.
Available in 12 oz. & 22 oz. bottles
4.5% ABW OG= 1.053 TG = 1.01

Remember, if you have a request for review, or have your own opinions of this beer post it here!
Merry Christmas, From All of Us in <Downfall>
garreth — Thu, 12/24/2009 - 19:26
Merry Christmas from all of us in Downfall to all of yours! May all your loots be purple and your connections be stable!
No idea what to title this
Kwondre — Tue, 12/22/2009 - 23:55
So, I've been sitting on this information for about a week now, trying to evaluate the situation without a knee-jerk reaction.
Basically, here's the deal:
I was just promoted (yay?) and given an ass-ton more responsibility at work.
My hours, before promotion, were typically (in server time), 3:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Those of you online during the day know that half of that time, I spend jerking around and reading mmo-champion, parses, and boss-strats.
Now, I'll be having to push those hours even further, as well as oversee three people under me (which means less jerking around time). I will also be required to make road trips far more frequently.
This is all theoretical, and I don't know 100% how this will play out in 2010 (when my new responsibilities start for real), but I wanted to give you guys as much of a heads up as possible. For all I know, the time constraints involved could end up being manageable and there might be minimal difference in my playtime next year as is the current situation.
As for my WoW playtime,
I want to play. I enjoy playing. I enjoy spending time with the vast majority of people in this guild. I'm not game-quitting.
However, I don't think I can be depended on to be an every-night raider anymore, for 25 and 10 mans. This is ironic, because in my app I stated that i'd likely be only able to play 2 nights a week due to work, but you guys were such pleasures (you too Shihli) to be around that I somehow managed to get on 90% of my non-work / non-sleep hours (and sometimes during work hours too).
I just finished reading the new "game plan" for KB and unfortunately, I don't fit into even the "fill-in" category because I can't guarantee being on for raid times. I have no choice but to call myself a "will be happy to fill-in when available and needed" category, and I'm going to assume that's not good enough.
So anyways, this is my long drawn out way of saying that life circumstances have changed significantly for me and going forward I will struggle and try my best to be on and contribute and have fun with you all as much as I can. I'm sorry if this turn of events disappoints anyone.
As thrilled as I am about the progression in my career, I'm saddened by the consequence I think its going to have on my time with you guys. Hopefully, I'm wrong, and this was all a pile of shit for no reason post.
